SUBJECT: April 27, 2006, Meeting of the Nacimiento Project Commission
The Nacimiento Project Commission met on Thursday, April 27`h, and received a report that the
final design for the project will commence in May and is expected to be completed by January.
There are between 800 to 900 drawings for this project. The project is "essentially" on schedule
according to the Project Manager,John Hollenbeck. The critical path for this project will be the
acquisition of right-of-ways, where two firms are actively engaged, and the environmental
permitting, which requires project approval from five State and Federal agencies.
The Nacimiento project staff continue to meet with officials of Camp Roberts to work out
alignment and access problems. They are also meeting with officials from Monterey County ,
who are proposing to modify the dam spillway to allow increased water storage and serve the
Salinas River recharge. The Commission received a detailed presentation regarding future steps
and proposed progress anticipated for the project.
