RECREATION COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION
As recommended by the Council subcommittees, by motion, make appointments to the Housing
Authority, Joint Use of Recreational Facilities Committee and the Parks and Recreation
Commission effective August 21, 2007, and expiring as recommended by the Council
Subcommittees as indicated in the staff report.
DISCUSSION
Recruitment was conducted to fill vacancies for unexpired terms on the Housing Authority, Joint
Use of Recreational Facilities Committee (JUC) and the Parks and Recreation Commission
(PRC). During the recruitment period, the Council Liaison Subcommittees for each of the
advisory bodies conducted interviews. The following recommendations are based on those
interviews.
Housing Authority
Two vacancies were not filled during the March 2007 annual recruitment. The Council
Subcommittee, consisting of the Mayor, recommend the appointment of Kayanna Bailey, Tenant
Representative, and Jackie Wright, Senior Tenant Representative for terms expiring on March
31, 2009.
Joint Use of Recreational Facilities Committee (JUC)
Two vacancies were not filled during the March 2007 annual recruitment. The Council
Subcommittee, consisting of Council Members Carter and Settle, recommend the appointment of
Michael Parolini to fill one unexpired term ending on March 31, 2011. Staff will continue to
recruit for the remaining vacancy.
Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC)
Due to the resignation of Bill Pyper on March 31, 2007, there is one unscheduled vacancy. Mr.
Pyper's term expires March 31, 2009. The Council Subcommittee, consisting of Council
Members Carter and Brown, recommend the appointment of Kylie Hatch to fill Mr. Pyper's
unexpired term.
