Statler, Director of Finance�/1,1 7�7 Prepared By: Vi Sheldon, Accounting Supervisor SUBJECT: SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY CAO RECOMMENDATION Adopt a resolution declaring vehicles and equipment as surplus property. DISCUSSION Section 906 of the City Charter requires that the City Council approve the sale or disposal Of surplus property with an estimated value greater than $100. The Public Works Director has identified the vehicles and equipment listed in Exhibit A as surplus to the needs of the Public Works Department. All of the vehicles have been replaced in accordance with the replacement guidelines in the City's Fleet Management Program as reaffirmed by the Council on June 30, 1992 when specific replacements for 1992-93 were approved. The listing reflects replacement vehicles that have been purchased and placed into service over the past twenty months. The vehicles proposed for sale as surplus property have been prepared for disposal which will be by sale at public auction. FISCAL IMPACT It is anticipated that the City will receive $35,000 in proceeds from the sale of the vehicles which will be conducted by West Coast Auctioneers. (1993 Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DECLARING VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT U AS SURPLUS PROPERTY BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby declares that all items of property listed in Exhibit A attached and incorporated herein by reference are surplus property. SECTION 2. Disposal of the property shall be made as determined by sale at public auction or by another method of disposal in accordance with the City's surplus property policy as determined by the Director of Finance to be in the best interest of the City.
