SUBJECT: APPOWTMENTS TO ADVISORY BODIES
RECOMMENDATION
1. As recommended by Council Subcommittee members Paul Brown and Allen Settle,
appoint Christopher Weber to the Architectural Review Committee for an unexpired term
ending on March 31, 2011.
2. As recommended by Council Subcommittee members Paul Brown and Christine
Mulholland, appoint Matt Colonell to the Bicycle Advisory Committee for an unexpired
term ending on March 31,2009.
3. As recommended by Mayor Romero, appoint John Schutz to serve as the City's
representative on the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) Citizens'
Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) for an unexpired term ending on March 31,
2012.
DISCUSSION
Recruitment was conducted to fill vacancies for the positions indicated below. After the close of
the recruitment period, interviews were conducted and recommendations were made based on
those interviews.
Architectural Review Commission(ARC)
Due to the resignation of Commissioner Jason Kambitsis effective June 16,2008, a vacancy was
created on the ARC. Vice Mayor Brown and Council Member Settle serve on this ARC Liaison
Subcommittee. They are recommending that Christopher Weber be appointed to fill this
unscheduled vacancy with a term expiring on March 31, 2011.
Bicycle Advisory Committee(BAC)
Kevin Christian was recently hired as the Bicycle Program Assistant with the City's Public
Works Department, which resulted in his need to resign from BAC effective April 29, 2008.
Vice Mayor Brown and Council Member Mulholland service on this Subcommittee. They are
recommending that Matt Colonell be appointed to fill this unscheduled vacancy with a term
expiring on March 31,2009.

Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee(CTAC)
The CTAC is an advisory committee to the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments.
Membership includes one representative from each of the seven cities within San Luis Obispo
County. The City's representative, Stanley Yucikas,resigned his position in February 2008. One
application was received for this position. Mayor Romero interviewed the applicant, John
Schutz, and is recommending his appointment for a tern expiring on March 31,2012.
