SUBJECT: Communications: Fire Prevention Week
Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With! From October 3-9, the City of San Luis Obispo
Fire Department will be celebrating Fire Prevention Week, This year's campaign is
designed to educate people about the importance of smoke alarms and encourage everyone
to take the steps necessary to update and maintain their home smoke alarm protection.
Join members of the department on October 7th at the Farmer's Market on Chorro Street to
celebrate Fire Prevention Week, where they will be educating people on this important
issue. The firefighters will also be making presentations at local elementary schools and
participating in the San Luis Obispo Night with your Neighbors in an effort to remind
everyone that smoke alarms save lives and should be installed and maintained in every
home.
