SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE JOINT USE OF RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES COMMITTEE (JUC)
RECOMMENDATION
As recommended by the Council Subcommittee Members Allen Settle and John Ashbaugh,make
the following appointments to the Joint Use of Recreational Facilities Committee (JUC): 1)
Appoint Stew Jenkins to a term expiring March 31, 2011. 2) Appoint Suzan Ehdaie to a term
expiring March 31, 2010.
DISCUSSION
Two vacancies exist for members on the JUC. Staff has been unable to fill one position that has
been vacant since the March 2007 recruitment period. The second position was vacated by Lisa
Monreal in 2008, when she moved out of the area. Staff advertised for the vacant positions in
accordance with statutory requirements; however, no applications were received until the end of
December 2008.
Council Liaison Subcommittee Members Allen Settle and John Ashbaugh conducted interviews
with three applicants on January 29, 2009. Following the interviews, the Council Liaison
Subcommittee recommended the appointment of Stew Jenkins and Suzan Ehdaie.
