SUBJECT: CANCELLATION OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING
RECOMMENDATION
Cancel the Regular City Council Meeting of Tuesday, August 18, 2009.
DISCUSSION
Since 1994 it has been the practice of the City Council to cancel a regular meeting in the month
of August. This custom allows the Council and staff members to plan summer vacations and
reduces meeting absences. Staff briefly discussed this matter with the Council on March 17 and
it appeared that the best date to cancel is the August 18, 2009, meeting. The matter was then
referred to staff for a formal recommendation and action.
