Al C I T Y OF SAN LUIS OBI SPO FROM: Michael Codron,Assistant City Manager Prepared by: Elaina Cano,City Clerk gWP SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE PROMOTIONAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE (PCC) AND THE TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT BOARD(TBID) RECOMMENDATION In accordance with the recommendations of the Council Subcommittees, make appointments to the City's advisory bodies as follows: Promotional Coordinating Committee(PCC) (Subcommittee Members Carter and Smith) Appoint Dave Cox to the Promotional Coordinating Committee effective April 19, 2011, and expiring on March 31, 2015. This term would be for a four year term. Tourism Business Improvement District Board (TBID) (Subcommittee Members Carter and Smith) 1) Appoint Nipool Patel to the Tourism Business Improvement District Board (TBID) effective April 19,2011,and expiring on March 31, 2012. 2) Appoint Clint Pearce to the Tourism Business Improvement District Board (TBID) effective April 19,2011,and expiring on March 31,2015. DISCUSSION Due to an unfilled position, there is one vacancy on the Promotional Coordinating Committee. Staff posted the vacancy as required, and received four applications. Council Subcommittee Members Andrew Carter and Kathy Smith conducted the interviews on April 1, 2011. Following the interviews, the Council Liaison Subcommittee recommended the appointment of Dave Cox with a term expiring March 31,2015. During the 2011 Annual Advisory Body Recruitment one position on the Tourism Business Improvement District Board (TBID) was not filled. The unfilled term was to expire on March 31, 2012. Council Subcommittee Members Andrew Carter and Kathy Smith conducted the interviews on April 1, 2011. Following the interviews, the Council Liaison Subcommittee recommended the appointment of Nipool Patel with a term expiring March 31,2012. AM I Council Agenda Report Appointments to City Advisory Bodies Paoe In addition, on April 4, 2011, Jaime Wallace announced his resignation effective immediately. Mr. Wallace was appointed in March 2011 with a term expiring March 31, 2015. Staff posted the vacancy as required. Because the Council Subcommittee recently conducted interviews for the TBID with an excess of candidates, they agreed to choose one of the qualified applicants and waive the interview process. The Council Subcommittee recommended the appointment of Clint Pearce with a term expiring March 31,2015.
