41,Neighborhood maintenance needs to be a top City budget priority :
Untill 2000 neighborhood maintenance had been done on a regular basis .
Since then, the following projects have been sorely neglected in th e
Cities neighborhoods .

1.Red curbs are faded to to pink or white .COUNCILMEETING :1 h1L3
'TEM NO :2.Sidewalks are crumbling and uprooted by street trees .
3.Trees that for 25 years had been deemed "street trees" and were main-
tained by the city are no longer maintained by the City . Why not?
4.Potholes need filling .
5.Storm drains are clogged and need to be cleaned out .
6.Street striping is worn away ..
7.installation of handy cap ramps . (Its the law )
8.Street signs and Stop sign damaged, some missing until resident s
report them missing .
9.Street sweepers only sweep down the middle of the road . Debri s
piles up under vehiles at the curb and never gets cleaned .
9 . Street storage of R .V's . Ordenance never enforced to remove them .
• 10 . A major major concern is the cleaning of the cement culverts i n
the Foothill area . These culverts had always been cleaned in Septembe r
before the rains came . This cleaning was always done by the City crew s
or the Conservation Corp . For the last several years residents begge d
and begged the city to clean the culverts to no avail : Residents whos e
properties backed up to the culvert had to get down into the culver t
and remove mattresses, shopping carts, garbage that was infested wit h
rats and haul all of this away to the dump :
Everyone wants hike paths, skateboard ramps, sports fields to b e
put in the budget . Shouldn't : neighborhood maintenance come first ?
Residents pay property taxes, why are we not receiving the ser -
vices we are paying for?
