BACKGROUND
On December 21, 1989 Council, by adoption of Resolution No.

"Anaerobic Digester Cleaning Project-City Plan No. P-38S11.
This project has been identified as having three (3) phases
as there are three digesters to be cleaned and repaired.
Cleaning and repair of Digester # 1 (Phase 1) was completed
in September 1990.
Cleaning of Digester #2 has been advertised, bid, and
completed and staff is ready to proceed with the necessary
repairs. An internal inspection of the digester has been
completed and required repairs identified. Completion of
the required repairs will complete Phase 2 of this project
and staff will then proceed to Phase 3, Clean and Repair
Digester # 3.
Repair of the Digester is required to insure satisfactory
operation and stabilization of the wastewater sludge.
Repair also consists of applying a protective coating to the
interior of the digester to protect metal and concrete
surfaces from corrosion associated with anaerobic digestion.
