BACKGROUND: The Advisory Body handbook states in part that: '"The Mayor and Vice-Mayor shall submit recommendations to the full Council and rotate nominations for Councilmember Subcommittees to provide an opportunity for each member to serve as a liaison at least once on each advisory body when possible. When terms of office do not allow each member to serve once, members with greatest seniority shall have first right of selection." (Adopted 10/4/88 by Res. 6506.) The Council Subcommittee (Dunn/Reiss) met and reviewed the 1989 appointments and recommend the attached list of Council Subcommittee appointments as outlined on Exhibit A. If you have questions or other suggestions, please contact either Councilmember prior to the meeting if at all possible. Thank you. I have attached the original legislation' mandating the formation of said committee as well as a departmental administrative bulletin with specific information. Your representatives, Kenneth Schwartz and Penny Rappa, have done an excellent job on the committee and may be interested in continuing in their capacity.
