To the City Council ,
I have received word that once again, someone wants to buy the golf course and turn it into housing . It seems
that every few years
e have to fight this battle of keeping our gem of a city course . It is the only city park that contributes mor e
ey for its upkeep . Sinc e
Damon-Garcia field is not utilized that much, why not use that property for low cost homes ?
Let me remind you that Laguna Golf Course is used by seniors who would be unable to participate in a larg e
golf setting, it runs th e
first tee program for kids that is very successful, it is used by students at Cal-Poly for a class, it is used by othe r
students all over
the city who love to play golf. It is a drawing for SLO to have a city golf course when visitors come here fro m
out of town.
People are always telling the staff how well the course is kept and how beautiful it is . There are many
volunteers who help o n
a regular basis to keep everything running smoothly .
Please do not let greed and money be the basis of a very bad transaction of selling Laguna Lake Golf Course . i t
is an importan t
asset for our community .
