Subject: Bunyon Brothers Ad Hoc Composting Facility
Dear Mayor and Council Members.
I wanted to take the time to inform that the County of San Luis Obispo currently has an open investigation on the Bunyon
Bros Grinding Operation on Orcutt Road.
Last year the Bunyon Bros. applied to open a Composting Facility on the property. But later withdrew their application due
to all the public opposition.
Since then it appears they have ignored their decision to withdraw their permit request., The Ranch Roads have all been
widened, graded and large pad has been created. The pad now is holding a pile of debris 20 feet high and 100 feet long
just as if it was being prepared for composting.
did contact County and got the following response:
Mr. Felsman:
We share your concern and already have an open investigation on this and the adjoining parcels. At this time we
are consulting with the State
(CalRecycle) on the greenwaste site as they are the regulatory agency and have a current license for the
composting. The grading is being addressed by the owner as rangeland rehabilitation and we are reviewing their
application. Feel free to contact me with questions.

It would be appreciated if the City of SLO could also contact the County to express their concern in this matter. It would
give a little more weight than a concerned citizen raising the issue.
Thank you for listening.
Sincerely,
