It’s time to find your happy place – wrote and distributed release highlighting San
Luis Obispo is the perfect spring break destination for the whole family.
Spring events in San Luis Obispo – distributed release to local outlets highlighting
upcoming events in San Luis Obispo.
Media/Community Relations:
1. Provided Karen Skodzinsky, who is organizing the Cal-Poly HTEC
Conference in July, tourism information and collateral to enable attendees to
take full advantage of their trip to San Luis Obispo.
2. Worked with local partners as well as Visit California France and Cali’Fun to
organize and host a group of French journalists including Elle France, Le
Point, Les Echos Série Limitée, Biba and L'ObsProvided as well as
representatives from online tour operator, Marco & Vasco, during their trip to
San Luis Obispo.
3. Worked with Caitlin Martin, a travel journalist with Johnny Jet, to feature SLO
in a destination profile later this year.
4. Provided Kristen Fuller with photos for her article on San Luis Obispo in
Vacation Travel Rentals.
5. Coordinated press trip for Michelle Jackson, an Irish travel writer with Sunday
World newspaper. Her article will focus on family travel throughout California.
6. Gave walking tour of downtown San Luis Obispo to Chinese tour operator
FAM group.
7. Pitched San Luis Obispo as an ideal dog friendly spring break getaway to
pet centric lifestyle journalists and bloggers.
8. Distributed materials from GIA recipients to hotels and other hospitality
partners in SLO.
9. Coordinated press trip for Kristin Conard, freelance writer for Adventure
Sports Journal in March.
10. Provided Black Diamond, the CCTC’s PR agency, to provide ‘quirky content’
about San Luis Obispo for their monthly themed newsletter that is sent to their
U.K. and Ireland travel trade contacts.
11. Pitched several San Luis Obispo locals associated with the wine and outdoor
adventure industries to be featured in Sunset Magazine’s ‘Ask a Local’
column.
12. Pitched SLO as the up and coming beer enthusiast destination to Neal
Ungerleider with Fast Company.
13. Created and distributed February SLO Happenings event sheet to hospitality
partners.
14. Continued to work with the City and Barnett Cox & Associates and
StudioGood on overall tourism marketing campaign.
