February 21 :Student Community Liaison Committee,City Hall (with Mayor Marx )
February 23 (Saturday):Community Action Partnership Board of Directors, 9 a .m . – 2 p .m . Discussio n
dominated by questions raised by local bloggers and radio host about CAPSLO Homeless Services at
Maxine Lewis and Prado Day Center . Detailed explanations were provided to lengthy questions by th e
12 board members present . If desired, I am willing to pass on these explanations and/or to take furthe r
questions back to CAPSLO staff .
February 25 (Monday, coincidentally at the Monday Club):Retirement dinner for Chuck Stevenson afte r
a 39-year career with the County Planning Department . Chuck assured me that he intends to complet e
his term on the City's Planning Commission through March, 2015 – hopefully enough time to continu e
his skilled hand in shaping the evolving Land Use and Circulation Element update .
February 27 (Wednesday):Met with California Conservation Corps staff– Mike Anderson, Conservatio n
Manager and Paul Hawkins, Project Supervisor, to obtain informal input on feasibility of propose d
footbridge/boardwalk to connect Laguna Middle School with Laguna Natural Reserve via a footbridge .
February 28 (Thursday): Good Morning SLO, Grace Church SL O
March1-Friday):3 :30 pm – Wine Shed, Broad Street : Welcoming party for the new "5L0 Ambassador "
Bentley Murdoch, hired by Rosetta as part of the Tourism Business Improvement District program t o
attract visitors to 5L0 .
Friday and Saturday, Marchland 2 :Phyllis Madonna Musical Revue, Alex Madonna Expo Center (fou r
shows )
Sunday and Monday, March 3 and 4 :Meetings with Peter Kageyama, author of For the Love of Cities ,
including an open workshop to entertain ideas for "love note" projects to express the "soul" of SLO on a
very limited budget .
