2. Docent Activities
Kincaid reported on the following:
A question surfaced at the January meeting about the $350 in gift shop sales from December.
Kincaid itemized the December gift shop sales as cards, books, lavender wands and clearance items.
Kincaid picked up 15-20 hats for Mother’s Day event. A description of each hat will be written for
docents to share with visitors at the event.
Buggy shed doors have been installed and they look exactly like the previous set.
The fence panel is still in the shop.
3. Member Comments/Communications
(Committee Member Settle arrived at 5:40)
Stockton clarified the previously titled “Historical Society” has been renamed “History Center”.
Stockton had concerns that the process for accepting the donated items from Loren Nicholson was
not complete. A form still needs to be filled out with a description of items accepted by the Jack
House and signed by Loren Nicholson turning over the property to the Jack House.
Carpenter confirmed that this was good practice in case the items were ever challenged; a document
would state that they were under Jack House ownership. Batterson will research and report back to
the committee next month.
Johnson is on a steering committee for the celebration of California’s 100th anniversary of women’s
voting rights. A traveling display will be in San Luis Obispo County all year and Johnson would
like the Jack House to host the display at one of the community events this year.
Gordon brought Flower Show brochures to share.
Mayeda questioned the account balance, a total of $3200 seems low, what revenue supports this
account? Kincaid clarified that tours and gift shop sales are the only revenues.
