REGULAR ITEMS
1. Price Change for Seniors - Batterson
Burger was approached by a citizen sharing concern that some Seniors can not afford the $5 charge
for a tour. Burger shared this information with Batterson.
Committee discussed reducing the rate. Committee felt that reducing the rate after it was just
changed would be difficult to track; however, if a group approached the Committee requesting a
special reduced rate for a group tour, this would be considered. The Committee felt that this should
be re-visited in a year if the issue comes up again.
MOTION: (Batterson/Johnson) Move that at present there will be no change of fees for Sunday
tours; reduced group rate tours for Seniors will be negotiated as requested.

*Volunteer BBQ will be September 19 – reminder to all to attend.
*Ashley Villarreal is working with outside design companies on getting some new logo designs.
*Amy Voorhies is no longer an employee of the City of San Luis Obispo. Burger will start

longer.

*Haunted Halloween – planning has begun; new “Victorian Mannequins” purchased
*Old tapes with some house history have been found – Kinkaid will work on listening to these tapes
and adjusting the tour script as necessary for next year.
*Researched rates for Pavilion, Lighthouse and Dallidet to compare to wedding rates.

Bob Gordon – 1) When comparing costs of other facilities, it is important to consider what is being
offered and included in the price (i.e. parking, privacy, indoor access, etc.). 2) Friend of the Jack
House steering committee met Friday to finalize the bylaws. They will meet with Barry
Vanderkelley of the Community Foundation next week. 3) Would like to plan something special for
the reopening of the house in the Spring. 4) Pierre Ratamacher has arranged for a grant to remove
the elevator from the house.
Meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. Next meeting is October 10, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the San Luis
Obispo Parks and Recreation Administration Office.
