Jack House Elevator Removal Project

As Council will likely be receiving questions on this topic during review of the proposed 2015 -17
Financial Plan, the following update is provided as background information.
Jack House Elevator Project Status:
1. Fall 2014: The Jack House Committee develops its goals including the elevator removal. This
has been a goal of the committee for many years (approximately 40) and staff has submitted prior
CIPs to accomplish the same.
2. January 2015: Council establishes its major city goals and other important objectives and the
elevator is not one.
3. Parks and Recreation staff submit a CIP for the Jack House elevator removal (design and
construction for 2018 -19 at an estimated cost of $44,000).
4. Jack House elevator removal CIP is not recommended for the proposed 5 -year CIP by the
Committee given all of the competing priorities.
5. Jack House Committee is informed by staff of the status of the elevator removal project.
