Roll Call, Present Councilmen H.A.Gowman, L.F.Sinsheimer, Geo.H.Andrews, and Mayor Stover.. Dick Sanders present just after Roll Call. liinutes of Dec.6th,1915.. -read . L7ith notations minutes stand approved as read. �j The City Attorney stated that.no opinion had been given relative to War Veteran sxemptions.but that the lam as pr (bvided by the State Constitution relative to same is that the wife of a Veteran can secure exemption for sufficient amount to make balance of 4 1000.00 exemption allowed to Veteran where he has not sufficient property to secure exemption and when property of husbandand wife does not exceed $ 5000.00 to gether . The reports of the City Clerk and Pound Master for the month of Nov.were read. A petition was received for the transfer of the Restaurant license of Joe Brovelli to Tony Chiesa. It was moved by Geo.H Andrews and seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer that the matter be referred to the Com.of Public Health and Safety . On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by Geo.H.Andrews the petition of Enos and Tamo for transfer of liquor license to Enos and Fourcade was referred to Com.Public Health & Safety. On mention of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo.H.Andrews the petition of J.J.Long for cancellation of tax sale vas referred to Com.of Finance and Revenue. The notice of a clerical error in the School Tax assessment of E.1% -Clark for 7270.00:^ras brought before the Board for adjustment The assessment according to tax statement and County Records show that the assessment should be $,270.00. On motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo.H.Andrews the matter was referred to Com. of Finance & Revenue. The petition of H.L.Xemper and F.H.Throop for refund of taxesin the sum of ,Y 10.15 for double assessment on lots Sand 4 in block 49, the same being assessed to and owned by Tognazzini & Righetti. On motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by H.A.Gowman the matter was referred to the Com.of Finance and Revenue. Applications for permits for side walks were as follows; Alice Truesdale 50ft. park side walk - Lot 5 Block 33. Lethodist Episcopal Church 119-:1/2ft. -Lot 5 Block 100 -side walk and concrete gutter F.Tercis 125 ft. -Lot 2 Block 66 - Curbing. Carl Herzog 50 ft.- Lot 9 Block 4 - concrete gutter. It was moved by Geo.H Andrews and. ' seconded by Dick Sanders that the above applications be granted . Carried. The following applications for building permits were received. CQ Andrews Estate repairs to building in Block 18, Cost $ 500.00 Geo.W.Ec Cabe ,part of block 24 Brick and Concrete Garage - Cost '$ 4000.00 F.H.Throop. ,lot 5 Block 59 -wood Garage - Cost `50.00. On motion of H.A.Gowman seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer the above permits were grantee. It was moved by H.A..Gowman• and 'seconded by Dick Sanders that the application of Virginia Xing for Restaurant license be rejected. Carried. Geo..9.Mc Cabe appeared before the Board and asked permission to place a gasoline 'pump on the side walk in front of his Garage. After considerable discussion the matter was referred to the Com.of Public .forks and the Com.of Public Health and Safety, to be taken up at next meeting The Allinson and Cole.Construction Co's Contract in re construction of City Jail was read by the City Atty.,also the Resolution authorizing E.D.Cole Vice President and i f A.A.Sinsheimer secretary of the Allinson and Cole Construction Co -to ©rPCUte the same. 'On motion_Ahe above docurnents_were ordered placed on file. g. �2a-3 It was moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by.Geo.H.Andrews that the 1Iayor be instructed to execute the above mentioned Contract. It was moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by Geo.H.Andrews that the bondeof the Allinson and Cole Construction Co.be approved. Carried . Ordinance No. 52 ( New Series ) amendinc section 4 of Ordinance No. 32 (New Series) in re raising salary of Police Judge from X35.00 to X50.00 per month was presented by the City Attorney. It was moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by Dick Sanders that the Ordinance be passed to print. Roll Call: Dick Sanders ,Yes; H.A.Gowman ,Yes; L.F.Sinsheimer ,Ido; Geo.H.Andrews ,Yes; liayor Stover ,Yes. Ordinance in re having unimproved lots connected with sewers left until next meeting. Er.A.J.Regan appeared before the Board and brought up the matter of the very gun satisfactory condition of Gas . The matter was discussed at length and then left until next meeting at which time 11r.Ryder was to be invited to be present. It was moved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconded by H.A.Gowman that the light bill of N 405.11 bd_-'paid since the light pole at Ella and Upham St. had been moved and placed as requested. On motion of Com. Dick Sanders seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer the Com.of Supplies was authorized to purchase a filing cabinet for the Clarks Office. The purchase price to be 95.65. Carried. It was moved by Dick Sanders and seconded by H.A.Gowman that the following amounts be transferred from the General Fund to the various other Funds. City Attorney reported that Mrs Jennie Johnson had agreed to mov move back. That the agreed price was 0 300.00. It was moved by Com.Geo.H.Andrews and seconded by L.F.Sinsheimer that the City Clerk draw a warrant in the sum of 6300.b0 in favor of Mrs, Johnson. The City Attorney to present the warrant to Mrs.Johnson and receive the necessary receipt. Carried. The usual list of Applications for quarterly business licenses was presented for renewal. There was discussion on .various ones but no action taken. Motion was made to adjourn to Idonday Dec.27th,at 7 :30 P.IS;'.
