Absent, Councilman L.F.Sinaheimer, who came in shortly after Roll Call. The minutes of Jan. 3rd 1916..read and•approved. A communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund in re insurance or City ,mpioyees w•as received and ordered filed for the -present but to be tai-en up at the regular tt� meeting on = February 7th.1916. It was moved by Dick Sanders and seconded by L.F.Sinshemer..that the report of the City Treasurer be accepted and placed on file. Carried. itir.Shipsey appeared before the Board in re the application of Geo.; 1:c Cabe for permission to install a Gasoline ?ump and Filler at the Curb line in front of his (garage. l.:r.iiarding,agent for such pumps,spoke of the advantages and the safety of the underground equipment for Gasoline. It was moved by H.A.Gowman that the permit be granted. The motion was lost for the want of a second. L:iessrs Eo::ell and Price answered summons by City Attorney in re Taxicab license. Discussion. On motion of 7.F.Sinsheimer seconded by li._.Gowma.n the matter was referred to the Kayor,City Attorney and the Com.of Finande and Revenue ;'for adjustment and settlement. i.r.yder appeared before the Council and explained at length the manner of Gas tests ,J'p as referred to in Ordinance Into. 38( New Series) and stated that a recording pressure Gauge l would help to note ti,here Gas pressure was low and whether it be the cause of the Gas or the stove that would be at fault. ,� l:x�. Lason @f.the LTidla,nd...Co..Pub.Serv.CorP'n spoke in re Gas heat. The gentleman L4. wishes complaints turned in to the Gas Co.instead of Council. He also stated that the Co. was using a nev. purefier and that he was confident that good Gas could be made by the next meeting . It is the aim of the Company to satisfy all consumers, :222 Professor Ryder stated that in regard to the street lighting system he had-three different methods to offer as to finances,to change the present lighting system, but to figure out all three would entail :much work. The Council thanked Lir.Ryder for his work and trouble and the matter would come up - later. On motion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Dick Sanders it was ordered that the Com. of tl� Supplies purchase a recording pressure gauge to be used in connection with Gas Tester. Corp'n.be requested to furnish a map of the Gas.Plant within the City of Ban Luis Obispo, showing in detail , location, size,depth,connections,etc.,of all pipes,together with any and all other detail desired by the City Engineer. Carried. On -,lotion of L.F.Sinsheimer seconded by Geo.H.Andrews the petition of the Northrup Rst.`,l for the transfer of license to Emil Jure was referred to the Com.of Public Health and Safety. The applications of Nellie de la Rosa and l.D.Hendershot for lodging house and that of A.F.Eoe for restaurant were ordered granted. The application of L.Tamo for restaurant and R.LI. It was moved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconded by H.A.Goviman that the bill of Aston & Schulze for slides made in re. Bond Election for Fire Apparatus be paid. Carried.
