Present: Dick Sanders, H.A.Gowman, Geo.H.Andrews, Mayor Stover.

celled. Carried.
A petit =ion from the tax - payers and residents of the vicinity of
Marsh and Broad streets was peresented and read, requesting that a
light be placed at that corner. Moved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconded
,l� } by H.A.Rowman that a light be placed at Marsh and Broad streets, that
the matter be referred to L.F.Einsheimer with power to act. Carried.
Application for Building Permits received as follows: --
Fannie Sandercock Lot 14 Bk, 106, Repairs dwelling 6 600.00
F.L.Sandercock Lot 8 -9 Bk, 120 Removal of house. It was

moved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconed by Dick Sanders that the permits
be granted. Carried.
Application for Restaurant License of John Willard Payne was re-
ceived, moved by Geo.H.Andrews and seconded by Dick Sanders that the
same be referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.Carried.
Moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by Dick Sanders that gotel
Liceese of Jasper Gnesa, Lodging House Licsase of H.N.Bunce and Ci-
gar Store License of P.Pedrizzi be granted. Carried.
It was moved by Geo H.Andrews and seconded by H.A. @owman that
License 'X 559 F.Vaudoit. lidse. Gents Furnishings �& referred to City
Attorney for collection and that the following licenses be cancelled:

Mr Chandler of Santa Maria Gas and.Power Co. was present in re-
supplying gas to City Hall. The gentleman was requested, to furnish
estimates in furnishing gas for }feat and also one foriilumination.
Mr Burch was instruced_to.interciew the property owners on Mon-
terey street, between Chorro and Broad streets, as to their intention
of laying sidewalks , and to inform them that the Council would take
action next Monday night.
It was moved by Geo.H.Andrews and secoilded'cfiy:'H:A,:Govman that the
matter of rolling sacrifiering upper Monterey street be referred to.Com-
missioner of Public Works with to act. Carried.,
Igr Burch was directed to get data as to what buildings are in the
City limits in Arlington.-Addition..
The matter . of -Pence in Jail yard was left to Mr Burch.
Moved by H.A.Gowman and seconded by Geo.H.Andrews .to adjourn to
Idonday, 7:30 P.M., Oct 30th. 1916.
