ROLL CALL: Present, Commissioners Dick Sanders, H. A. Gowman, L. F. Sinsheimer and read. Geo. H. Andrews. Absent, We M. Stover. The minutes of April 16th, April 23rd and.April 30th read and approved as Communications from Knights of Columbus expressing appreciation for the placing of a light standard at the corner of Marsh and broad St. On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. A. Gowman, the same was received and placed on file. eL- Communication from Railroad Commission in re grade crossings of the Pacific qot. -J I Coast Railway Co.'s tracks within the City of San Luis Obispo, and making certain e,&recommendations in re advance warning signs to be placed at said crossings. The following applications for building permits were received: Susan J. Stockton - Lot 4 Block 33 - Repairs to Residence Cost $466.00 of the Railroad Commission be complied with and that the Commissioner of Public Cost Health and Safety be instructed to carry out instructions. The Pacific Coast Lot 7 Co. to be notified of the action taken by the Council in re the matter. - Application of Jas. J. Maino for permit to remove a house from Lot 7 Block 105 to Lot 13 6n the east side of Santa Rosa St. between Pacific and Pismo Sts. 1 1 On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. A. Gowman the same was granted. The following applications for building permits were received: Susan J. Stockton - Lot 4 Block 33 - Repairs to Residence Cost $466.00 Petition received from the Santa Maria Gas and Power Co. for permit to in- stall a Gas light standard at the S. K. corner of Marsh and Morro Sts. On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by Dick Sanders, the same was granted. Petition of e7. T. Reid for permission to erect a solid board fence 7 ft. in height on Lot 7 Block 105. ed by H. A. Gowman. The same was granted on motion of Dick Sanders second- Commissioner Geo. H. Andrews asked for permit to place an aiming over the sidewalk in front of H. M. Merrifield Store on Monterey St. On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. A. Gowman the permit was granted. Application received from the Midland Co. Public Service Corporation for permit to open ditch to run a service line for gas on I,:arsh St. between Archer and Carme2L Sts. On motion of L. F. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders. 1.50 Representatives of the Southern Pacific Railroad Co. avpeared before the - J. S. Duprey- council and requested permission to cross High St. and Osos St, with tVV tracks. 5.00 #1209 - L. Duprey - It was moved by L. F. Sinsheimer and seconded by H. A. Gowman that the request 5.00 be granted. - E. Bolin - Commissioner Sinsheimer called to..•the attention of the Council that it was 2.00 imperative that repairs be made to Villa St. Bridge. On motion of Dick Sanders - Ray Hearne - seconded by H...A. Gowman, the Commissioner of Public Works was empowered to make the necessary repairs to said bridge. Application of Dr. R. Y. Bradbury for permit to construct.an 8 ft. cement sidewalk for a distance of 20.6 ft. on the west side of Morro St.,between Pacific and Marsh Ste. Block 100. Same was granted on motion of Dick Sanders seconded by H. A. Gowman. Application of E. J. Shiflett and M. P. Tognazzini for Taxicab licenses re- ceived. On motidn of Dick Sanders seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer the same were. laid over for investigation. Application received from R. C. Moods for a restaurant license. On-_=tion of Dick Sanders seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer the same was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation. Sinsheimer the above licenses, except that of Ray Hearne, were ordered cancelled. On motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer, the - license of Ray Hearne was referred to the Commissioner of Finance & Revenue. On motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders the application of C. K. Inao for a transfer of the lodging house license of I. Tarioka to himself, which had been referred for investigation, was granted.
