Gowman, L. F. Sinsheimer, Geo. H, Andrews and Mayor Stover, Absent, None. The following applications for building permits were received: Mrs. Clara Sauer, Lot 2 Block 96 - New Store Frant, Cost 400.00 Firs. Emma Cook, _ Lot 4 Block 119- Addition to dwellin g 200.00 On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by Geo.. H. Andrews, the above ap- plications were granted. Application of the Midland Co. Public Service Corporation for permit to open trench for the purpose of installing gas service on Palm St. between Morro and Chorro St. received. Upon motion of L..F. Sinsheimer seconded by Geo: H. Andrews/ihe application was granted. Application from the Santa Maria Gas and Power Co. for permit to open trench for the purpose of laying gas.service on Idonterey.St. between Ida and Johnson St.; on Churbh.St, between Chorro and Morro St, and on Grand Ave.. and Murray St. be- tween Monterey and Abbott St. The application was granted on motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by Geo. Hr Andrews. Petition received from the 1,7ells Fargo & Co. for permission to place a sign in front of said Company's office at 983 Osos St. The petition was granted on I:iotion of H. A. Gowman seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer. 327 . . On motion of Dick Senders seconded by H. A. Gowman, the bills for the month of April were allowed and ordered paid/ On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by H. A. Gowman the salary of J. Custer, ' A. Villa and.R. Villa was. ra-isedi:,in the sum of $5.60, said raise to be effective this month. The following trvnsfer of funds were ordered made on the motion of Dick Sanders seconded by H. A. Gowman. Sinsheimer. 38. Petition received from J. V. Stumpf et al requesting a transfer of their licenses for the "Pioneer Cafe" and "Pioneer Rooming House" to Phil George. On motion of Dick Sanders seconded by Geo..H. Andrews.the same was laid over for the usual investigation. The applications of M. Pb Tognazzini and E. J. Shifflett for taxacab licnese which were referred for.investigation were ordered granted on motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders. The application of R. C. Woods for a restaurant license which was referred at _ a previous meeting for investigation was.granted.on motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by Dick Sanders, City Clerk's report for month of April presented. On motion -)f Geo. H. Andrews seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer the same was received and ordered filed. The claim of C. L. Curtis in the sum of $34.83 which had been referred to the City Attorney for_report.was again brought up. The Commissioner of Finance and Revenue reported that the City Attorney had informed him that said C. L. Curia had no legal claim against the City. It was moved by H.A. "owman and seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer that the bill be laid on the table. The motion prevailed. Resolution No. 87 (New Serieso in re granting to the Southern Pacific Co. per - ' mission to cross High and Osos St. with two tracks, was introduced. It was moved G by Geo. H. Andrews and seconded by H. A. Gowman that the Resolution be passed. Roll Call: Ayes, Dick Sanders, H. A. Gowman, L. F. Sinsheimer, Geo. H. Andrews and i . M, Stover, Noes, None Absent None. There was discussion in re the bills presented by A. Carlisle & Co. for goods in 1913 and 1914. Said Company claiming that bills had not been paid. _,purchased It was moved by Dick Sanders and seconded by Geo. H. Andrews that the matter be laid-on the table until further evidence is secured. The City Clerk to communicate with Carlisle & Co. advising them of the action of Council and ascertain if possible who ordered the goods. •;��� (A� There was discussion in re that section of the License ordinance covering license U ,( for peddlers. � �1dr- Sinsheimer was. directed to arrange a form for u statement, by which merchants would be required to make an annual statement of their receipts, that the charge for 1-,­4 /`L their license might be made in accordance therewith.
