HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/04/19171 1 J V City Hall,Tuesday., Sept.. 4th 1917- 7;30 P.Me Council met in regular session with Mayor Stover presiding. ROLL CALL: Present, H.B. Kirtland, H.n. Cowman, L.F. Sinsheimer, John Chapek, and W.M. Stover. The minutes of August 20th. 27th. and 30th. were read and approved as read. Communication received from,H.B. Snyder,City Clerk of the City of Santa Rosa, inviting the .Council.. to .attend_. the_ sessions .of. the League of California Idnnicipalities to be held in that City.the.week of September 24th. Communication ordered filed. Applications for building . permits follow: Mrs C.F. Angel- . Lot 6 Block 7-. Brick Structure, Work Room, Cost 300.00 D.O. Clifford - Lot .l Block 4 Buena Vista Addition, Residence, Cost 850.00 Diary C. Rowan requested permission to move a corrugated iron building from a portion of lot 6 Block 7 to another position.on.same lot. On motion of H.B. d.irtland seconded by John Chapek the applications were granted. Application of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation for permit to open ditch on Chorro Street between Marsh and Pacific Street received and granted upon motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by..John Chapek. The report of the City Collector for the month of August was.received and ordered filed on motion.of John Chapek.seconded . by H.B. Kirtland. The application of Virginia King for. permit to conduct a lodging house at 662 Osos Street , the same having been referred from the last meeting, was ordered rejected upon motion of H.A. Cowman seconded by.H.B. Kirtland. On'motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by H.B. Kirtland Ordinance No. 64 ( New Series ) ,fixing the Tax Rate for the year 1917 -18 was finally passed by the following vote: ROLL CALL: Ayes, H.B. Kirtland, H.A. Gowman, John Chapek, W.?:r. Stover, Noes, None. Absent, None. L.F. Sinsheimer declined to vote. Claims against the City for the month of August were read, and on motion of H.A. Cowman seconded by L.F. Sinsheimer were ordered allowed subject to the approval of-the heads of the various departments. The unsanitary condition of the sewer at Monterey and Chorro St. was again brought to the.attention of the Council. Kirtland that the nominations be closed and that the five nominees be appointed Library Trustees . The motion carried and was so ordered. 359
