I6 was moved by L. F. Sinsheimer that I:Ir. iiouaek be made a regular employee
of the City at a salary of X125.00 per month. This motion was not_ seconded until
the amount was changed to �i15.00,.when Commissioner Chapek seconded the motion and
it was agreed that the same be incorporated in the original motion.
Commissioner Sinsheimer then moved that the salary of the street Sweepers and
Pumpers be raised X5.00 per month; that that of the Police Officers be raised 1060;
that employees of the Fire Dept. be raised 1060; that W. C. Long's salary be raised from
$100.00 to $115.00.per month; and that all employees not specified in the original
motion be raised 1060. Tnese motions were lost fer the lack of a second.
Tne original motion was then put, carried and so prdered.
IL was moved by H. A. cowman and seconded by H. B. Kirciand to adjourn to Monday,
May 13th,1918 at 7 :30 P. m. ROLL CAU:

The report of the City Treasurer for the month of April was received and ordered

The following applications for permits to build were ordered granted upon motion
of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. B. Kirtland.
W. D. Bailey, Lot 1, Block 38, Garage Cost $h25.00
J. H. Warner, Lot 11, Block 123 Garage Cost 175.00
The Midland Co. Public Service Corp'n applied for permit to open trenches in
tae streets at the following named locations:
On Leff St. between Chorro and Morro Sts.
On Pacific St. between Osos and Toro St. and
On Peach St. between Toro and Essex Sts.
On motion of L. F. Sinsheimer seconded by H. B. Kirtland the same were granted.
The peition of Mrs. Dora Knudsen requesting a transfer of lodging house license
' to Frank S. McDonald was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation on motion of H. B. Kirtland seconded by L.. F. Sinsheimer.
The application of the Legg &tt Poster Advertising Co. for permit to place bill
board on the Bassi property referred at the last meeting was ordered granted on
motion of H. A. Gowman seconded by H. B. Kirtland.
