The petition of A.D. Wallace for to.install Gasoline Pump the
permit at curb
of sidewalk in front of California Garage was granted on motion of H.A. Gov=an

seconded by John Chapek.
The application of the Committee of Arrangements of the I.D.E.S. Celebration
for a Restaurant Liquor License was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety.on motion of H.B. Kirtland seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by John Chapek the matter of the purchase
of a Protectograph for the use of the City Clerk was referred to the Commissioner of
Finance and Revenue .
An application was received from M.G. Fillipponi for permit to operate a
motor freight line between the town of Cambria and the City of San Luis Obispo and
requesting that a date be set for the hearing of the said application.
It was moved by H.B. Kirtland and seconded by James Piper that the hearing be set for

June second 1919 at 7:30 P.M., and that due notice be given by publication. i:iotion Carried.
The applications of Agnes I -.Lee and A F. Fitzgerald for re- appointment to
the offices of City Collector and City Treasurer respectively were ordered filed.
The matter of the appointment of City officers was taken up and it was moved
by H.A. Gowman and seconded by James Piper that all appointive officers hold office
subject to the pleasure of the Board.
For Library Trustees the following were nominated:
Upon roll call , Y-re, Harry Childs, Lliss Ethel Jack, Mr. Vim. Shipsey,
Kiss Edna Finney and I:iiss Grace Barneberg receiving the highest number of votes cast ,
were declardd elected Library Trustees.
For Chief of the Fire Department Joe Ghigliotti was nominated by H.A. Gowman,
seconded by James Piper , and upon roll call Yr. Ghigliotti was unanimously elected
Fire Chief.
For City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets and ;'Dater Department ,
W.B. Burch was nominated by John Chapek.-•. James Piper moved that nominations
be closed. Upon roll call A:Ir. Burch was unanimously elected to the above named.office.
For City Collector Agnes Y.Lee was nominated by H.A. Gowman seconded by
James Piper. It was moved by H.B. Kirtland that nominations for City Collector be
closed. }Upon roll call Ili,-,s lee receiving the unanimous vote oft he Council was
declared elected City Collector.
For City Treasurer , James ?iper presented the name of J.C. James.and
Dr. H.B. Kirtland nominated A.F. Fitzgerald. The roll was called and A.F. Fitzgerald
receiving the highest number of votes cast was declared elected City Treasurer.
