Upon roll call I.F. Cook was unanimously elected Chief of Police. For City Attorney Cnas. P. Zaetzel was nominated by John Chapek. On motion of James Piper seconded by H.B. Kirtland the nominations for Cit,.7 Attorney were closed. . Upon roll call_ Chas. P. Kaetzel rae unanimously elected City Attorney. For Captain of Police 17.a. Sanders was nominated by James Piper and upon roll call was unanimously elected as Captain of'Police. The following zrere named.by-Commissioner.Govrman as regular employees in the Public Health and Safety Department, the nominations being seconded by ,)ohn Chapek. V.J. At request of-Commissioner Chapek the naming of the regular employee =., in the Department of Public Works was left over to the next meeting. It was suggested by Commissioner Kirtland that a Park Comi?iission be created.and the !natter wam. discussed at length. It was moved by H.B. Kirtland and seconded by �a H.;i. Govaian, that a Park Commission be created, the same to consist of t he City Engineer , the .:Commissioner of Public Works and three private citizens. The matter w;s referred to the Commissioner of Public Works and the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for Report at sdme future meeti:zg of the 3oard. It was moved by H.A. G�wman and eeconded by John Chapek that 206.75 be transferred from the General Fund tb the Mayor's Fund. The..motion carried and it was so ordered. It was moved by James �iper.and. seconded b;y John Chapek that the City Engineer be directed to establish grades on streets bounded by High Street , the Pacific Coast Railway and 'goad Street, and that the Cit-t, Engineer be emno,.zered to expend for assistance in said work a sum not to exceed. $ 150.00. Sinsheimer. :,bsent , H.B. jirtlaIId. For Judge of tide Police Court Commissioner Towman ,nominated Putnam , the nomination r:as seconded by John Chapek and upon.roll tali Z.S.
