Kilbern, JamesPiper, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent H.A. Gowman. On motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper the following applications for i permit to build were granted:. pU,,,,4_ Dora Reidy -- Remodeling Block 177 Cost $ 250.00 Chas. J. Thorn -- Repairs and Remodeling Block 9 Cost 1500.00 The application of Mildred Waterman for permit to build a residence.on lots 1& 2 of 1a gina.Block at a Cost of $ 4000.00 was granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern.seconded by W.B. Martin. The report of t he.City Treasurer for the month of July was received and ordered filed on motion of James'Piper seconded by W.B. Martin. The application of the Mid. Co. Pub. Servo Corpn..for permit to set a 35foot pole ✓ on Palm Street.between Park and Grove Street and to reset a pole at 1344 Higuera: Street between Johnson Avenue and Essex Street were referred,to the Commissioner of Public Works. The applications_ of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to open trenches for the purpose of installing Gas service on Marsh Street between aohnson Avenue and Ida Street , and on Pismo S treet between Toro a nd Es s ex Street w ere granted on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin. On mot.lon of James.-Piper seconded by W.B. Martin the petition of Julius E Bomettl for transfer of license for Taxicab to N.E. Connally and H.S. Kiger was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report. A petition was received from First Church of Christ,Scientisto , praying that a Street light be installed in front of the said Church edifice on Garden Street between Pismo and Pacific Street. The said petitioners agreeing to bear the - expense of the Standard and installation of same. The petition was granted on motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern, PJ--� The.petition signed by Johnson Bros. et al , protesting against the.establishing .of an Undertaking and Embalming parlor in Garden Street between Marsh and Higuera Street, was denied on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin. ;..._ Relative to the matter of a retaining wall in creek in Dana Street, it was moved by W.B. Martin and seconded by James Piper that the Commissioner of Public Works and the Commissioner of Supplies investigate the.same and report to the Council. kt' The matter of the extension and dedication of Pismo Street to the City of ;-aysan Luis Obispo by John B. Isola was referred.to the City Attorney for investigation and report on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by James Piper.. On motion of James Piper seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern Council adjourned for fifteen minutes. Ayes : W.B. Martin, Geo. W. Kilbern, James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : H.A.
