Application of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation # 45
for permit to remove and reset poles on Santa Rosa Street between Higuera and Palm Street
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report on motion of W.B. Martin sec
ad by James Piper.
The Report of the Police Judge for the month of April was received and
ordered filed on motion of James Piper deconded by W.B. ?Mrtin.
Cdr. G.W. Baker was again before the Council with a Map of "Linda Vista
Addition:'-; He having extended certain streets and widened others to meet with the suggest-
ions of the Council, it was moved by James Piper and seconded by W.B. Martin that the
said Map be accepted. The motion carried.
The application of R.C. Ivey for license for Soft Drinks, Pool and
Cigars Sideline at 1917 1/2 dsos Street were again brought up. Certain protests were
made against the granting of the said licenses. On motion of W.B. MartUx seconded by
James Piper the matter was laid over to the next meeting when all members of the Council
would be present and when definite action will be taken.
John'.: Mc Quads requested permit to place an S ft, sidewalk in front of
his premises on Islay Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Street , in lieu of a 10$t, side-
walk as required by Ordinance, calling attention to the fact that the street narrows at
the said point. The City Attorney was directed to draft an amendment to the
Ordinance permitting of a narrower sidewalk.
On motion of James Piper seconded by W.B. Martin Athe- merchandising
license of N.C. Brew ? 1706 was ordered cancelled.
The City Attorney was directed to look up Ordinance relative to the
matter of Signs and Awnings.
On motion of JamesPiper seconded by W.B. Martin the meeting adjourned .

Present W.B. Martin, H.A. Gorman , Geo. W. Kilbern, James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
On motion of H.A. Gorman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the Woman's Civic Club
was granted license for Theatrical Entertainments at the Woman's Civic Club House.
On motion of H.A. Gorman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the meeting adjourned.
