Gowman , Geo. W. Kilbern , James Piper , L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the following applicat• ions for permit to build were granted G.A. Titcomb requesting the Council to place a Street Light at the corner of Pacific and Johnson Street It was moved by W.B. Martin and seconded by James Piper that the Street Light in the center of the block on Pacific Street between Essex and Johnson Street be moved to -the corner of Pacific and Johnson Street. The motion carried. The following applications for permit to lay sidewalk and curbing were granted on motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern: J.R. Robacsiotti - 19 ft. full width sidewalk and curbing on the South side of Monterey:Street • between.Chorro and Morro Street. Allen T. Fesler - 50 ft. 5 ft, park sidewalk and curbing on the South side Pacific Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street. O.S. Sellers - 5011t. 4 ft. park sidewalk on the north side Pacific Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street. F. Marion Smith - 250 ft. 4 ft. park sidewalk and curbing on the North side of Pacific Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street ; also,.90 ft. on the West side Santa.Rosa Street between Pacific and Marsh StreP The two latter applications were granted with the understanding that 5 ft. park sidewalk be substituted in lieu of the 4 ft. walk as petitioned.for. On motion of W.B. Martin seconded by James Piper the Santa Maria Gas Comps was permitted to open trenches on Leff Street bet-seen Garden and Broad Street and on Pismo Street between Nipomo and Beach Street. The following applications for Sewer connections were granted on motion o Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin C.A. De Velbis - Buchon Street between Carmel and Beach Street. Wm. Dufi - Marsh Street between Toro and Essex Street. Forrest E. Brown -n (_>2) Marsh Street between Garden and Broad Street. Thos. Shipman ( 3 ) Marsh Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Street, J.W. Herbert - Marsh Street between Toro and Essex Street. Presbyterian Church - Marsh Street between :...,_Morro and Osos Street. John G. Cann - Marsh Street between Toro and Essex Street, Wm. Pfeiffer - Leff Street between Garden and Broad Street. It was moved by Geo. W. Kilbern that the applications of the Midland Counties Public Service Corporation Nos. 46,51 and 52 be granted. The motion was lost for the lack of a second. 41 g It was then ordered that all permits for the removal or setting of poles be laid over. The application of Ira Hodson for permit to lay 150 ft. park sidewalk on .t South side of Pacific Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Street , also, 100 ft .;on Oros Street between Pacific and Pismo Street was granted on motion of W.B. Martin seconded by James Piper. Communication received from the League of California Municipalities giving notice of conference of City Officials of Northern California , in the City of Stockton, June 3d. was ordered filed. On motion of H.A. Gowman seconded by W.B. dartin the Commissioner of Supplies was directed to purchase a copy of the Amended codes of California; for the use of the Police Judge. It was moved by James Piper and seconded by W.B. Martin that a committee be appointed to investigate the matter of the culvert on Santa Rosa Street between Monterey and Higuera Street. The Committee as appointed by the Mayor follows Commissioners James Piper and Geo. W. Bilbern and City Engineer W.B. Burch. On motion W:B. Martin-seconded by James Piper , which motion unamiously carried, the Council then proceeded to canvas the returns of the Special Municipal Election held in the City of San Luis Obispo on the 29th day of May 1922 , for bonding the City for certain municipal improvements and to authorize the Council to levy a special tax for the purpose of paving street intersections and found the result of the election to be as follow Consolidated Precinct No. 1.
