Carpenter ; Geo. 176 Kilbern, Chas. Forbes,"L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent None. The minutes of, June 4th and 11th were read and approved as read on motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by W.B.. Martin. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by W.B. Martin: Jas. S. Butler - Residence Pt lot 16 & 17 Block 35 Phillips-Synclicate Addn Cost 31,000.0 Herman Tschiesche - Residence lot 11 to 14 Block 13 Central, Addn " 2,882.0 The application of E.J. Leitcher for permit to remove a building from Block 62 to lot 8 Block 4 Nortons Addition was granted on motion of Geo. 17. Kilbern second by 17.B. Martin. On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by 17.B. 1.1artin the application of Selina Sharpe for permit to lay 45 ft. 5 ft, park sidewalk on the South side of Pismo St between Toro and Essex Street and 80 ft. of 4fte park sidewalk on the 17est side of Essex Street between Pismo and Buchon Street was granted with the provision that sidewalk on Essex Striot , also,, be 5 ft park walk. - On motion of Geo. r7. Kilbern seconded by 17.B,Harti.n the application of Swift & Cc for permit to lay 110 ft .12 fto sidewalk and curbing on the South side of Hignera Street west of Nipomo Street was granted. The application of.B.S.Sawkins for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Buchon Street between Nipomo and Beach - Street was•granted on motion of Geo. 1§I. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes. The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to set two poles and one anchor in Alley between Broad and Nipomo Street in Block 92 was granted on motion of Geo. 17. Kilbern seconded by C.?S.Carpenter. The application add R.D.Debnis for license for Lunch Counter at 879 Montere Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of Geo. W. Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes. Application of Herrera Bros. for license for Boxing Exhibition at 8742 Higuera Street , to be held on the ev:ning of July 4th, was referred to the Commissioner o Public Health and Safety for report on motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by,Chas. Forbes. The Merchandising-Bond of Treitman Bros, Produce Company , Surety C.H.Kamm Company , was approved on motion of r7.B sartin seconded-by C..I.Carpenter. .The application of Forrest E. Brown for license for garage referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for report on motion of C.M. Carpenter seconded by Geo. 17, Kilbern. Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion.of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by 17.B.Martin. On motion of r7.B. Martin seconded by Geo. W. Kilbern the claim of the Davis Construction Company in the amount of $ 790eOO ( being final payment on contract price of 0 3,160.00 for the construction of Morro Streit Bridge ) was ordered paid, as was also, the claim of Geo. Matts for one half months salaty for June, in the amount of $ 55.00 On motion of W*B,Tclartin seconded by Chas. Forbes the Official Bond of M.A.Fitzgerald , as City Attorney , was accepted and approved. 1✓ 13 It was moved by Geo. Wo Kilbern and seconded by C.M. We Kilbern .license p 19'64 issued to We Dover for Restaurant at 1804 Osos Street , $ 5.00 , was ordered cancelled. The merchandising Bonds of Henry °Redmond,- Henry Mallory, Coast Produce Geo. E. Gearing and J.P.Maschmeyer and M Sterkin were ordered cancelled on:-motion of W.B.Martin seconded by C.M.Carpenterl" the principals in each case having fulfilled obligati as required by Section 62 of License Ordinance # 76 ( New Series ). On motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded by Chas. Forbes the matter in with the Merchandising Bond of F.M.Jackson was laid-over to the next meetings Ed9N,,Kaiser appeared on behalf of the 4th of July Committee and requested permission to plate Banners across Streets at either entrance to the.City and at the, Chamber of Commerce. The request-was granted on motion of WoB.TSartin seconded by Chas. Forbes. The request for Fire Works at Exposition Park was also granted with the provisionthat the same be under the supervision.'.of - the Chief of Police. In re leasing Auto Camp Grounds: It was moved by C.M,darpenter and sec by W,BeMartin that Mr. Walker file proposals in writing regarding same. Motion carried. In order to comply with certain regulations- of the State.�Department of Public Health and Safety for Camp Grounds -- the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety was directed to investigate conditions at the local Auto Camp Grounds and report at the next meeting. The petition of John'--.Be Berkemeyer & Son for permit to place reinforced concrete wall in Creek at Chorro St Bridge was granted subject to,the approval of the City Engineer ; also with the provision that Mr. Isolas wall be strengthened if so advised by the City Engineer. The application of Mary Berry for license for lodging house at 737 Idonterey was rejected on motion of C,M.Carpenter seconded by Chas, Forbes, On motion of C.IA.Carpenter seconded by W*B.I;_artin the petition of 1drs. A.Br for transfer of Hotel Granada Lodging House license to,I.7rs. J.E.France was granted. The petition of Stanley He Cutchan for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Morro Street between Pismo and Buchon Street was granted on motion of Geo. We Kilbern seconded- by CoMAI Carpenter. It-was moved by Chas: Forbes and seconded by w.B,Ylartin that the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety-employ one additional Police Officer , at a Salary of :$ 125.00 per month, to work under the supervision of-the Chief of Police in enforcing the Parking Ordinance. In re appointment of Library Trustees : It was moved-by W.B,Martin and seconded by Geo. We Kilbern that the farmer members of the Board of Trustees , viz: idxs. Catherine-Childs, I:Iiss Grace Barneberg, Iviiss Edna He Finney and Miss Ethel Jack be reappointed. p,rgysr L.F.Sinsheimer moved to amend the motion by adding to the four hereinabove mentioned, the name of A.E.Campbell as a-fifth member of the Board. The amendment was seconded by WeB.I:Iartini The vote on the amendment was:ealled for. All voted aye and the amendment was declared carried. The vote on the original moti was then taken. All voting aye. The motion was daclared carried. On motion of C.M.Carpenter seconded by If.B.Martin , Geo. LeKilbern was ap- pointed Police Officer. On motion of WeB.I•tartin seconded by Geo.
