Present : 1 "I.B.I:Iartin, C.Y.Carpenter, Geo, IN, Vilbern, Chas, Forbes, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion ld.B.I:Iartin seconded:- py.Chas,- Forbes: i,:.C.Holderman - 2 room Residence lot 27 Block 61 Cost 500000 E.P.Thompson - 2 Room residence lot E block 138 Phillips Addn " 300900 Frank Burrows - Garage and Laundry Room Lot 4 Block 151 Harford Addn " 85.00 O.P.:,Iurray - Garage lot 23 Lavina Block ( reconstructed of old lumber.) The application of J.H.Logan for permit to remove a building from lot 4 Block 147 Harford Addn to a temporary location oii lot 6 Block 50 was granted on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by C.LI.Uarpenter. The application of Albert Kelson for permit to change position of certain buildings on lots 3 -4 & 5 Block 1 Central Addition, also to add to and repair same, was ._ granted on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by C.IT.Carpenter. Application of the Bang of'Italy for permit to install a Tank, 6 x 101t. at a depth of 13 or 14 ft, below the`surface'of the Street, on Garden Street between Higuera and Marsh Street , to be used as a container for fuel Oil for the heating system in the Beak of sltaly was before the Council* i;latter discussed. It was moved by C.LI.Ca rpenter and seconded by Chas. Porbes that the matter be referred to the Commissione of Public Vlorks for investigation and report. Further discussion. Motion viithdrawno It was then moved by C.I:I.Carpenter and seconded by GI.B.I:.'artin that the application be subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Vlorks and that the work be done udder the supervision of the Superintendent of Streets. MotioA carried. The following applications for permit to lay sidewalk, curbing and gutters were granted on emotion of Geo. VI. uilbern seconded by C,M.Carpenter: A.C.Brittain - 50 ft curbing and gutter on the East side Chorro Street between Upham and High Street :'!alter H. Goettsche - 50 ft curbing and gutter 6n the east side of Chorro Street between Upham and 'nigh Street. Albert Nelson - 25 ft full width sidewalk and curbing on the Siut'h side of 1.1ontery Stree between Toro and Essex Street. The application of Albert Nelson for permit to connect with the City Sewer on Monterey Street between Toro and Essex Street , granted on motion of Geo. ;7 Zilbern seconded by W.B.I:Iartin. The petition of Wickenden and Foxen for transfer of licenses to Frans and Loomis, granted on motion of C.L.I.Cwrpenter seconded by VY.B.I:'artin. The report of the Police Judge for the month of September was received and ordered filed on motion of C.LI.Carpenter seconded by Geo. FI. ilbern. The application of Joe Stafanovich for license for Palmistry was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on motion of VI.B.Llartin seconded by Geo. V1. Hilbern. The Merchandising Bond of Geo.A.Butt, Surety A. Quintana, was approved on motion of l- I.B.I.,artin seconded by 0 *11.Carpenter. The matter of the Irlerchandising Bond of Batt Silverstein, Surety D.F.Ilorton of Los Angeles, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for investigation and report , on motion of C._r.Carpenter seconded by Geo. W. Hilbern. W, Lilbern, A petition was received from property owners on Higuera Street between Idipomo and South Streets requesting that the said Street be paved, curbed and sidewalked After considerable discussion relative to the different types of paving, the matter of adopting the type of paving to be used on !i�aera Street between Nipomo and South Streets was deferred for one reel: , on motion of C.Ir_.Carpenter seconded by Geo.':r.yilbern, - `alioh .,C._S -,i_th re:iuested that Palm Street between the Sou.Pac ?._.sight of and 1.7Gntere� Street be improved, and gas advised that work could proceed shortl; under petition oil rile.
