City Hall, Monday, March 22nd. 1926 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in adjourned session - Vice President of the Council
Chas Forbes presiding.
Present.: C.M.Carpenter, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes.
Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek:
Virgil Negranti - Residence & Garage lot 1 Mt Pleasanton Addition Cost ... $ 59000900
Hibler & Fuller - Office : Lot 3 Block 114 Reeds Addition " 100000
Applications of Paul S Roberts for license for Restaurant at 962 Monterey
Street and of A.Lange for Lodging House license 997 Higuera Street ( Midway Hotel ) were
referred on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek to the Commissioner of Public Health
and Safety for report.
Petition of Clara Bolla for transfer of Lodging House license 964 Chorro Stre
to Joe Duchi was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report on
motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek, as was also, the application of Addison Q.Chong
for permit to hang an Electric Sign ( 10 ft x 18" ) at 498 Palm Street.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.E.Cox the application of the Universal
By- Products Co for permit to run a 2" pipe line from their plant under and across Higuera
Street to the plant of the California Central Creamery was granted.
Petition was received from W.H.Porter et al praying for the opening and grad
of Murray'Avenue and Park Street.

Discussion. On motion of C,11,Carpenter seconded by
John Chapek the matter was referred back to petitioners, through the Commissioner of Public
Works for better form of petition.
Resolution No. 192 ( New Series ) A Resolution relative to the completion of
the Carmel- San Simeon Gap in the Pacific Shore Line Route was passed and adopted on moti
of C.H. Carpenter seconded by H.E.Cox by the following vote:
Ayes : C.M.Carpenter, John.Chapek, H.E.Cox, Chas Forbes.

Matter relative to maintenance by the City of Electric Signs to be erected by
the Monday Club was discussed but no final decision was reached. Hatter continued.
The applications for the quarterly licenses were presented. On motion of
C.M.Carpenter @®ebnded by H.E.Cox the applications were granted with the exception of those
of J.R.Robasciotti for.Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline.
Upon unfavorable report and motion of C.IvI.Carpenter seconded. by H.E.Cox it
ordered that the application of J.R.Robasciotti for license for Soft Drinks at 875
terey Street be not granted . The motion carried.
