On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes the Local Parlor of the
Native Daughters of the Golden ';Nest were permitted to sell Poppies on the Streets Saturday,
April 6th.

On motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek the claim of E. A. Branch in the
amount of 1,045.93, being amount due -said claimant in accordance with Engineer's estimate
No. 1 for the work performed under Contract for the construction of a Sanitary Sevier on
Monterey Street between Toro Street and Ida Street, was ordered paid:
Claims against the City for the month of I:Iarch were ordered paid subject to the
approval of the heads of the respective departments on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by
John Chapek.
Petition of Joe Duchi for transfer of license for lodging house at 964 Chorro Street
to Peppino Pedrozzi was laid over.
Petition of K. Nakano for transfer of license for Soft Drinks and Billiards and
Pool at 866 Palm Street to T. Yamagishi granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by
Chas. Forbes.
Petition of J. N. Colquitt for permit to hang an electric sign at 969 Higuera Street
granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes.
In re application of Fred C. Kimball for permit to install a 10,000 gallon under-
ground gasoline storage tank at Kimball Service Station Corner High and Higuera Street:
Discussion. On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes the petition was granted
with the provision that the said tank be installed under the supervision of the City Engineer
and in accordance with regulations of the National Board of Fire Underwriters and also,
with the provision that the same be removed at the pleasure of the Council. The request of
the said petitioner for permit to install two sidezalk pumps was withdrawn.
On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek the petition of V. C. Brisco
for permit to install a metal light standard at Service Station at junction Higuera and Marsh
Street granted.

L. F. Sinsheimer having received the highest number of votes cast for Mayor at the General
Municipal and Consolidated Charter Amendment and Bond Election held on the let. day of April,
1929 -be declared elected Mayor for the full term of two years, as prescribed by law; that H. E.
and John Chapek being the two persons receiving the highest vote for Councilmen at the General
Municipal and Consolidated Charter Amendment and Bond Election held on the 1st. day of April
1929, were and each of them was declared elected Councilmen for the full term of four years,
as prescribed by law; that C. L. Smith and-Francis H. Throop having received the highest num-
ber of votes cast for School Director at the General Municipal and Consolidated Charter Amend-
ment and Bond Election held on the 1st. day of April 1929, were, and each of them was, declared
elected School Director for the full term of four years as prescribed by law.

Resolution Nos'276 (New Series) A Resolution declaring and finding that the
proposition of amending the Charter of the City'of San Luis Obispo submitted to the quali-
fied voters.of said City on April ist. 1929,•reeeived,.the cote of a majority of all the
voters voting on such "proposition was introduced and adopted on dotion-of Chas.. Forbes
seconded by L. J. Defosset by the following vote:
Ayes: Chas. Forbes,-.'L. J. Defosset, ..H. E. Cox, John Chapek...L. F..Sinshe.imer.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
Resolution No. 277 (New Series). A Resolution declaring the canvas of returns
and result for consolidated Bond Election held in the City of San-Luis Obispo: -on ;the first
day of April, 1929, was adopted and passed on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H. E. Cox
by the following vote:
Ayes: Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset., H.-S. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
On motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by L. J. Defosset it was ordered that Election
officers serving in the seven consolidated Precincts within the City be compensated.in the
amount of $ 10.00 each, for their services, that those serving in the three consolidated
Precincts outside the City of San Luis Obispo be allowed the'sum of $.6.00 each for services
rendered as election officers.
On motion of Chas..Forbes seconded by L. J. Defosset it d:as ordered that $. 12.00
be allowed for rental of the respective polling places within,the City of San Luis Obispo,,
with the exception of the A..E, Brooking residence at 1216 Morro Street for which w 1.5.00
was allowed. On motion of H. E. Cox seconded by Chas. Forbes rental for Polling Places
outside the City of San Luis Obispo were allowed as follows:
I.O.O.F. Hall at Morro Bay S 10.00
Tognazzini's Hall Town of Edna 5.00
Santa Fe School House -Avila Road 5.00
The matter in connection with the petition of Neil Cook.for removal of Monday Club
Sign from his property was left over to 111r. Cox with power to act.
