City Ball, Monday, June 10th 1929 - 7 :30 P.I:I.
City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.R.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent :: Ilone.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by John Chapek:

The following applications for license were received, and on motion.of H.E.Cox sec
by John Chapek were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to
the Council:
Trinidad Viscarra - Boarding House 1814 Eorro 6treet
S.E.Caine - Soft Drinks & Cigars Sideline at 308 Higuera Street.
Commissioner of Public '.forks , H.E.Cox, reported favorably on the petition of
Jean Huddy O'Leary for perrsit to remove a tree from curb line of sidewalk at 1012 Pacific Stree
on his motion seconded by L.J.Defosset the petition was granted.
The petition of D.3.Crissey for permit to connect with the City Sewer on howard St
etween Second. Street and Third Street , granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Luis Obispo petitioned the Council of
he City of San Luis Obispo to transfer, by Ordinance, that part of north Broad Street from
alm Street to its intersection with the Chorro Road, for improvement purposes. Discussion.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by -H.E.Cox the City Attorney was directed to draft an
inance for the hereinabove mentioned purpose and present to the Council at the next meeting.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the City Clerk was authorized to cane
delinquent assessment in the name of " Unknown Owners" on lots 1/4 Block 2 imperial addition
or the year 1894:: it aidpearing that the same is a double assessment.
The Santa ! ..:aria Construction Company having complied with the request of the
ouncil - that liability and Compensation Policies be filed with the Council - it was moved by
ohn Chapek and seconded by li.r:.Cox that the certified check in the amount of 31600.00 which
ccompanied the Bid of the said Company for the improvement of tipper !::onterey Street by Paving,
e returned to the said Santa L[faria Construction Company. The motion carried.
The matter of an easement between the City Board of Education and the City of
San Luis Obispo relativeto certain parts of certain Streets on nigh School Campus was before the
Council and after discussion the matter was laid over to the next meeting.
The petition of H.S.Nisbet for permit to place an Electric Sign at 1025 Court Street
Obispo Hotel, was granted on motion of L.J.Defos--et seconded by John Chapek.
The petition of Thos. Fogarty, administrator for the Estate of Helen Boutiellier,
for transfer of license for Obispo Hotel to Henry S. Nisbet, was granted on motion of
L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek.

The petition of Foster Kleiser Company for permit to erect an advertising sign

property,in --accordance with petition on file was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by

permit to lay sidewalk, curbing and gutter on South Brmad Street, Imperial Addition.:
Natter discussed and continued to the next meeting. City Engineer to furnish the Council
with plat shoeing the proposed work.
City attorney filed report on licenses referred to him for collection. On motion
of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the report was ordered filed and City yttorr_ey directed to
continue in his effort to collect licenses remaining unpaid.
The written opinion of the City �!ttorr_ey relative to legal advertising rates was
ordered filed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox.
Certain unfinished business left over at the last meeting was again continued.
The City Engineer filed a report on�the distribution of the Cost, between the
City of San Luis Obispo and the adjoining property owmers, of the extension of the northerly
and Southerly ends of the Brca d and Leff Street Culvert , as follows:

On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by T.J.Defesset the report of the City Engineer was accepted.
City Clerk diereted to bill the two property owners for their respective portions of the
cost of said culvert extension.
Resolution No. 280 ( New Series ) A Resolution accepting a Deed from Albert Idels
et. al. conveying right of way over certain property at the south west corner of Block 91
ay and Church Addition, was introduced and adopted on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by
.J.Defosset by the following vote:
