City Hall, I.ionday, December 2d 1929- 7 :50 P.l::.
City Council met in regular session - Mayor L..F.Sinsheimer presiding.
P resent : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : H.E.Cox.
The minutes of November 18th and 25th were read and approved as read on motion of
Chas orbes seconded by John Chapek.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of John Chapek
seconded by Chas Forbes :

The application of the i >erald Publishing Col:,pany for permit to lay 50 ft of full
width sidewalk on the north side of Pacific Street between Llorro Street and Osos Ltreet was
granted on motion of John Ch soak. seconded by L.J.Defos et.
The follovi ng applications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted on

and Safety for report to the Council on Lotion of Chas Forbes seconded by Joraz Chapek:, as vias
also, the petition of V. Savio for permit to suspend a Globe Light over entrance to I:lission
est�urant at 1015 Chorro Street.
The petition of Louis Vega for permit to maintain a Boot Black stand on I:iorro street
at ?,ionterey Street was referred to the Co_uaissioner of Public health and Lafety for report, on
motion dilly seconded and carried.
The report of the Police Judge for the month of Idove.mber was received and ordered filed
on motion of Chas Po-rbes seconded by L.J.defosset.
Claims against the City for the month of 1.ovember were ordered paid, subject to the
proval of the heads of the respective departments pn motion of Chas Forbes seconded by
.J.Defos--et.
The merchandise Bond of the Santa Barbara Tobacco Company, secured by a Certified Check
the amount of a 200.00, was ordered cancelled and the certified check ordered returned,
principal having fulfilled obligation under said :Bond.
The matter of the application of the Harmony Valley Creamery ;association for permit to
uild a Creamery Plant in Block 60, corner of Dana and llipoEio Street, was now taken up.
ttorney S.V.F!right appeared for the petitioners for sgid Creamery Plant, presenting a petition
rom residents and Tax payers, urging the Council to tale favorable action on said application.
ttorney C.P.baetzel appeared for the protesting property ovnners and residents on Dana Street,
the, matter was discussed at length.
It eras moved by L.J.Defosset and seconded by John Ohapek that the application be granted, v;ith
he provision, that the Site selected be approved by the City Uouncil Further discussion.
'Iith the consent of the second L.J.Defosset- withdrew the motion. ifter further discussion
e following motion, by Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek, was put and carried: That the
iayor request the 1=r:,sident of the ",Terchants : association to appoint a committee to look into
lie matter of selecting a suitable site and subriit to c= armony Valley Creamery association for
their consideration.
