Ordinance No. 155 (New Series), An ordinance establishing grades on High, Sandercock
(Branch, Story, Ward, Hutton, King, Harris, Price, Cypress and Beebee Streets in the City of
San Luis Obispo was introduced and passed to print on motion of John Chapek seconded by
H. E. Cox by the following vote:
Ayes J. Be Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. E. Cox, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer.
Noes : None.

Ordinance No. 156 (New SeTies):f An ordinance regulating the control of dogs during
Ithe presence of Rabies in the City of San Luis Obispo, providing for immunization and
prescribing penalties was introduced and passed to print, on motion of John Chapek seconded by
L. J. Defosset by the following vote:
Ayes J. Be Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. L. Cox, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer.
Floes None.
Absent: None.
There was discussion relative to Building Code. .vIatter continued.
The City Attorney was directed to furnish the Council with a Resolution designating
the intersection of Broad and Pacific Streets and Osos and Pacific Streets as Boulevard$.
On motion of H. E. Cog seconded by L. J. Defosset the meeting adjourned to Monday,
June 22nd, 1931 at 7 :30 P. IkI.

The application of well Cog for permit to make an addition to garage, part of lot 49
Block 120, °Iurray and Church Addition, at a cost of $15.QO was granted, on motion of H.E. Cog
seconded by L. J. Defosset.
The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council:

The application of vim. Be Bradbeer for license for Soft Drinks at Mission Field and
Aitchell Lot, was granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer.
The application of Andrews Estate, by E. M. Payne, for permit to out pavement on
Csos Street between Monterey Street and Palm Street in order to make sewer connection for
Plaza Hotel, was granted with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the
City Engineer, and with the further provision, that the pavement be put back in its original
condition.
The application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a horizontal double
faced neon electric sign at the Obispo Hotel, corner Higuera Street and Court Street, was re-
(erred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
The report of the Pound Master for the month of May, 1931, was received and ordered
filed, on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek.
The applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion
of a. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The matter of the occupancy, by a certain family, of a small house on property owned
by the City of San Luis Obispo, known as the Auto Camp Ground, was brought to the attention of
the Council and referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and action.

The petition of Guy N. Baldwin for permit to tear out 3 feet of curbing at El Camino
Service Station and ramp sidewalk between driveways was again taken up. On motion of H•E. Cos
seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer the petition was granted with the provision that the petitioner
take up the matter of the removal of an obstructing pole, with the owner of said pole.
Application of Guy N. Baldwin for permit to install one 550 gallon gasoline storage
tank and one additional gasoline pump at E1 Camino Service Station, corner Higuera Street and
Walker Street was granted, on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek with the
provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and in accordance
th rules and regulations of the Board of Fire Underwriters.
On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by J.. Be Berkemeyer the petition of Benthan Harb
Company for permit to hang a vertical neon electric sign at the Golden State Milk Products
ding, 570 Higuera Street, was granted with-the provision that the sign be hung in accordant
ith Ordinance and under the supervision of the City.E gineer.
On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek the following applications for

The application of George Yashida for license for Lunch Counter at Osos Street and

The application of Maj. L. A. Whorley for permit to solicit funds for the
to Cross Mission Homes Inc., was denied, on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapel
The application of Mire. 111. H. trills for permit to lay 70 feet of curbing on the south
side of High Street between Cypress Street and Beebee Street was again continued, pending the
establishment of grades.
