Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The minutes of July 20th and 27th were read and approved as corrected on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. The application of g.Inao for permit to build a Store Room and four sleeping rooms on a part of Lot 1 Block 149 Harford Addition at a cost of $750,00 was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by L.J.Defosset, The applications of Gilbert R. Greenelsh for licenses for Restaurant, Cigar Side- line and Soft Drinks at 686 Higuera Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council, as was also, the application of Louis Dinapoles for permit to hang a wooden sign at 879 Higuera Street. A Communication was received from J.M.Cardwell requesting permit to hold. a parade, from the Southern.Pacific Station, about 1.00 or 1.30 o'clock P.M. on Sunday September 6th, 19319 following streets as designated, leading from Southern Pacific Depot to Mission Park was received. On motion of L.J,Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the request was granted. Said parade to be given prbper Police.escort. The reports of the City Collector and Police Judge for the month ending July 31st, 1931 were.-- received and ordered filed on motion of John Chapek seconded by Joseph B.Berkemeyer The following claims against the City were referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for investigation and report to the Council : Motor Service Shop - Rental on motor Johnnie Holmes - Refund of Tax on Auto P25.00 $2,56 Claims against the City of San Luis Obispo for the month of July were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective Departments on motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset, The matter of policies submitted by M.Lewin and Son and E.Vollmer for public Liability and Property Damage on cars owned by the City of San Luis Obispo was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for report to the Council. The report of the City Collector on licenses issued for the July quarter, remaining unpaid, was referred back to the City Collector for collection, On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the City Attorney was instructed to draft an amendment to the License Ordinance, imposing a penalty of 50% on ail licenses remaining unpaid 15 days subsequent to the date of their issuance, The application of `John E.Smee for permit to break pavement (21 by 141) in front of Lot 1 Block 149 Harford Addition, Higuera Street between South Street and French Street, for purpose of installing new water service connection for R.F.Fukunaga Building was ordered placed on file, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, pending filing of Building permit for R.F.Fukunaga Building, Application of mrs,W.H.Mills for permit to lay curbing on High Street continued pending the establishment of grades, On motion of L.J,Def onset seconded by H.E.Cox the City Attorney was directed to furnish the Council with a.Resolution increasing salary of Police Judge from "$50.00 per month to $65.00 per month, commenoing September lat. 1931.
