City Council met in regular session - mayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent . L.J.Defosset.
The minutes of September 21st and 28th were read and approved as read on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer
R.F.Fukunaga - Remodeling, Lot I.Block 149,Harford Addition. Cost $100000
W.-Young Louis - Remodel Building. Block 15 Cost $250.00
Maydie R.Brophy, et al - Remodeling, Lot 6 Block 8 Cost $180.00
Elmer Forbes - Residence, Lot 1`Isabel_Tract Cost $3600.00
Maurice A. Cheda - Residence, & Garage, Lot 89 Ivt. Pleasanton Add. Cost $4500.00
The application of W. Harry for license for.Restaurant.:at_830.Palm Street, and;the
petition of Mrs. F. Lewis for permit to replace a board sign at 1011 Morro Street, were
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council.
The following Merchandising Bonds were approved and the respective Sureties
accepted on favorable report and motion of John Chapek seconded by-H.E.Cox
Arthur Shurrager - Surety, Sun Indemnity Company of New York.
A. W. Proudfit - Surety, J. Shaw.
Consolidated Produce Company - Surety, Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland,
The reports of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of September
were received and ordered filed 1. on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Claims against the City for the.month of September were ordered paid, on motion of
John Chapek seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, subject to the.approval of the heads of the
respective departments.
The applications of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang electric signs .
were laid over for report by the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety.
Petition of San Luis Obispo High School District for permit to construct an asphalt
Macadam pavement on Ida Street between Marsh Street and Senior High School Building was before
the Council, City Engineer reported favorably on plans and specifications and on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John.Chapek the petition-.was granted.
The application of leers. "S. H. Mills for permit to lay curbing on High Street was
again continued pending the establishment of Street grades.
