The application of O.Homai for license for Hotel at 158 Higuera Street was referred
to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to. the Council.
The applications of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to break pavement at the
following named locations for purpose of locating leaks were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of
the City Engineer

On Chorro Street between Lionterey Street and Higuera Street.
On Monterey Street between Chorro Street and Morro Street.
The petition of A. A. Albin for transfer of license for I::erchandise at 268 Higuera

Street to J. Iil. Barton was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
The petition of J.H.Barnes for transfer of licenses for Hotel and Cigars Sideline
at Andrews.Hotel, to 'I.F.Rau and the petitions of the Valley Electric Company for permit to
hang electric sign, as set out in applications on file, were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, as was also, the application of w.H.Harrg
for license for Restaurant at 830 Palm Street and the petition of hIrs. F. Lewis for permit
to replace a board sign at 1011 LTorro Street.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of august 1931 was received and
ordered filed on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
This being the time and place for receiving bids, in accordance with published
notice, for the Sale of,$18,000.00 Municipal Sewer Improvement Bonds the matter was now before
the Council. The City Clerk reported that no Bids had been received. On motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue, John Chapek, was
authorized and directed to receive private bids and report to the Council at the next
meeting.
The application of Ivirs.;W'.H.ldills for permit to lay curbing on High Street was
again continued pending the establishment of Street grades.
On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by H.E.Cox the meeting adjourned to Monday,
October 26th, 1931, at 7.30 P. M.
