City 5811, Dionday, March 20th 1933 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in regular session - I:Iayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeger, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
The minutes of Mar.eh 7th. 13th, 14th. 15th. and 17th. were read and approved as read
on notion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.:,
Application of the Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to break pavement at the inter-
section of Broad and Alfonso Streets for the purpose of repairing Gas leak was referred to the
Co-%missioner of Public tVorks for investigation and report to the Council, on motion of
L.J.Defosset seconded.by J.B.Berkemeyer,
Application of Edwin VanSant and Eugene Maybury for permit to place a Lunch Stand on
Maesh Street between Service Station, at corner of ;Marsh and Osos Street and Schwafel's Shoe
Repair Shop, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the
Council.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.E.Cox the report of the City Clerk for the
month of February 1933, was received and ordered filed.
Applications were received from the following named, for license or permit to sell,
beer, wine and other beverages when the sale of such beverages is made legal ;

Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to the
Commissioner of Public Health and.Safety for report to the Council.
In a co,.- uunication I:.irs Ruth I;i. McIntyre thanked the Council-for appointment as
Election :;fficer for April 3rd 1933.
Application of National Business and Professional Women for permit to place Service
Club Sign at North and -Douth entrances to City was again laid over.
Petitions of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to do certain repair
work on poles on High Street near junction of Walker Street, and on Story Street near Pacific
Coast Railway right of way were again laid over.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following unpaid licenses
for the January quarter 1933, were referred to the City Attorney for collection
