The minutes of January 15th and 22nd ;-rere read and approved as read on motion of
J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L ;.P.Howell.
On motion of J.3.3erkei :,ever seconded by Joseph Leery the following applications for
per-iit to build were granted :
P.J.?ntreloni - Laundry Building part Lot 2 Block 5 Cost n 1,000.00
Dora ilicolaus - Sleeping Room Lot E Block 2 Central _ddition Cost 125.00
O.J.°elloni - Change Store Pront Block 7 Cost 240.00
The follovding applications for licenses were referred to the Com-Missioner of Public
Health and :%afety for investigation and report to the Council :

The petition of C.E.Cooper for transfer of licenses for I.Idse( Fruit & Produce )
and Cigars Sideline at 280 Higuera Street to Clora I.ICIntosh granted.on motion of J.B.Berkemeye
seconded by P.P.Howell.
The following applications for permit to hang signs were referred to the Coraulissione
of Public F.ealth and Safety for report:

On motion of Joseph Leary seconded by E.P.Howell the petition of the Pacific
Tblephone and Telegraph Company for permit to replace certain poles, as set out in application
on file, was referred to the Co,�c:issioner of Public l -dorks with power to act.

Santa rasa Street between Sycamore Street and the North City Limits, referred to the Commissi
of Public '.corks for report to the Council.
On-:Motion of n.P.Eowell seconded by J.B.Berke:aeyer it was ordered that the Policy
with the State Compensation Insurance Fund be renewed, as of February 7th 1934, and that
Claim of 5 250.00 for deposit premium be allowed. The motion carried.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of December 1933 and those of the
City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of January 1934 were received and ordered
placed on file on motion duly seconded and carried.
Communication from Idehi Bottling Co and from Jesse Yoakum, Chairman of Fiesta com-
mittee, ordered filed.
Claims against the City for the month of January 1934 were ordered paid, on motion
of I;.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. subject to the approval of the heads of the respecti
departments and the I:Iayor.
Application of Joe Duchi for license for Lodging House at 964 Chorro :street was
denied on notion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell,
idattere pending were continued.
On :notion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by z.P.Howell the meeting adjourned to Tuesday,
February 13th 1934 at 7 :30 p.Id.
