Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defoseet; R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary. Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer, The minutes of April 1st., 5th. and 8th were read and approved as read o Pp n motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the following application L.W.Campbell Vote as previously canvassed 1552 of the Building Absentee vote 61 1613 Anita Hathway - .Residence Block 7 Hathway Addn Charles Forbes Vote as previously canvassed 1515 Absentee vote 56 1571 referred to the Fred N. Kriner �` Vote as previously canvassed 343 Public Health and Safety for report to the Absentee. vote 6 349 S.Jackson Lowe Vote as previously canvassed 1664 Dining Room Absentee vote 66 1730• Erna P. Marsh Vote as previously canvassed 927 Absentee vote 26 953 1 Harry S. Walters Vote as previously canvassed 795 Absentee vote 20 815 Alice S. Witcosky Vote as previously canvassed 1708 Absentee vote 68 1776 It was moved by J.B.Berkemeyer, seconded by R.p.Howell and carried, that 1 L.F.Sinsheimer, having received the highest number of votes cast for Mayor at the General Municipal Election held on the let day of April 1935, be , and he is declared elected Mayor for the full term of two years,:;:as prescribed by law ; that Callie M. John, having received the highest number of votes cast for City Clerk, be and she is declared elected , City Clerk for the full term of four years as prescribed by law; that•.Joseph;B.:::Berkemeyer and L.J.Defosset, being the two persons receiving the highest number of votes cast for Councilman, were , and each of them was declared elected Councilman for the'full term of four years, as prescribed by law that L.W.Campbell, S.Jackson Lowe and Alice S.Witcosky being the three persons receiving the highest number of votes cast for School Director, were and each of them was declared elected School Director for the full term of four years, as prescribed by law. Hayes Dining Room 522 Higuera Street William G. Reid Cigars Sideline 1023 Morro Street William G. Reid Soft Drinks 1023 Morro Street 68 On motion? -of -.J;B-i Berkemeyer -. seconded by Joseph Leary the Merchandising Bond .of Don P. Cisco, with Julius A. Robasciotti as Surety, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance for report at the nest meeting. Petition of Henry Berkemeyer for transfer of license for Merchandise ( Wines & Liquors ) at 1019 Chorro Street to Mathews V. Freitas was granted on motion of J.B.Berkeme seconded by Joseph Leary, Petition of H.M.Wu for permit to hang a board sign at 1128 Chorro Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Application of - .iidland Counties Public Service Corporation 227 for certain work upon Chorro Street between Leff Street and Upham Street referred to Commissioner of Public Works, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. Application of F.C. Stolte Company for license for Class " D " Contractor, together with Surety Bond in the amount of $ 1,000.00 , and license fee of $ 25.00 was received, and on motion of R.P.Hotell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the Surety was accepted, Bond approved and license ordered issued. On motion of R.P.Rowell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer claim of the City Tax Collector in the amount of $ 211.64 , same being second installment of Tax due for the year 1934 -193 from the City of San Luis Obispo ror the improvement of Palm Street, Lower Higuera Street, and Broad Street, was passed. Clerk authorized to draw warrant on Interest Fund for the said amount. George Stockdale addressed the Council re " cooperative garden project ". Matter disoassed. Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset appointed a committee of wo — Commissioners -'�I.P.Howell and Joseph Leary — to investigate and report to the Council. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell application of Freeman Sign Service for permit to hang a wooden sign at _;Iotz Style shop, 856 Higuera Street, was granted, as was also, the application of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to replace a Neon Sign at Austin's Confectionery, 868 Monterey Streeto City Attorney directed to write Rockwell Sign Company re: delinquent license. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the following licenses were ordered cancelled : July qt. 1934: # 178 — Home nursery Mdse Nursery 2.50 463 — Dr T. Long physician 5100 Oct. qt. 1934: 813 — Home Nursery Mdee Nursery 2150 n n n 1096 - Dr T. Long Physician 5.00 Jan qt. 1935: 1581 - George Barnes Pad Frt & Vag 540 1803 - G.g.Inao Truck 5.00 $25.00 On motion of .J.B.Berkemeyer seconded.by R.P.Howell the meeting adjourned to Monday, April 22d 1935, at 7 :30 p.p1I.
