City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset
presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of September 16th., 23rd., and 30th. were read and approved as read
on motion of R.P.howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
On motion of J- B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the following applications
for permit to build were granted. The latter application being granted with the pro-
vision that the Contractor named therein take a license for Contracting.

The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council:
George V. Bettencourt Cigars Sideline 311 Higuera Street.
Frank N.Tower(Drive -in Cafe) Soft Drinks 427 Higuera Street.
Lierchandise Bond of ivirs iiiae Righetti, with United States Fidelity and Guaranty
Company as Surety, was approved and the Surety accepted, on motion of ^.P.Howell seconded
by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Applic°tion of Cline's Electric Shop for per-nit to change location of a Neon Sign
at the " Ford Garage " referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
Petition of Disabled _�meriean 'veterans of ;lorld War for per;ait to sell Forget- cue -n6ts
on the City's Streets on Saturday, ovember 2nd., granted.
Communication received from Mayor E.C.Emmons of City of Taft, inviting the Council
to attend Tafts' Silver Jubilee celebration November 9th to 11th inclusive. Communicati
ordered placed on file. Acceptance left to the pleasure of the Individual members of
the Council.
Communication of Ernest Childers relative to certain Eucalyptus trees at 1194
:acific Street read: iaatter referred to the Commissioner of Public works for investigation
nd report, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
The reports of the City Treasurer for the month of August, and of the City Collect
d the Police Judge for the month of September 1935 were received and ordered placed on fife.
Claims against the City for the month of September 1935, were ordered paid subject
o the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Yayor, on motion of
.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Communication from Fremont Parent Teachers Association re Safety zone and Patrol
strict on Hathway Avenue referred to the Commissioner of Public health and safety for
investigation.
Ordinance No. 181 ,( New Series ) An Ordinance Repealing Section 3 of Ordinance
No. 45 (New Series ) as amended by Ordinance i4o. 100 (.New Series ) was finally passed,
on motion of H.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, by the following vote
Ages : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell.
Noes : Joseph Leary.
Absent: L.F.Sinsheimer.
Re : license of Duke's Master Bread Co for selling Bakery products in City of
San Luis Obispo . City Attorney directed to take necessary legal action to enforce
payment of license.
