The petition of R. Leal for- permit to grade.a_oertain alley at 237 High Street
was laid over for further report by the Commissioner of Public Works.
Re: License Ordinance: Commissioner of Finance to make study Of Ordinance-
covering oleomargarine, bakeries and any other amendmends necessary.
The Playor appointed Commissioners W. H. Brazil, and Ralph C. Kennedy, a
Committee, to study the matter of a Kennel Ordinance and bring back report to the Council.
Resolution No. 447 (New! Series) - A Resolution accepting a Deed from.Guidetta
Marzorini and Clara Hardy for a certain irregular strip of land in Block 175, Loomis
Addition, was passed and adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil
by the following vote:
Ayes: W.H.Brazil,R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Fred C. Kimball, Joseph Leary
Noes: None
Absent: None
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the meeting adjourned

City Council met in adjourned session - mayor Fred C. Kimball presiding.
Present: W.H.Brazil,R.P.Howell,Ralph C. Kennedy, Fred C.Kimball, Joseph Leary
Absent: None
Resolution No. 448 (New Series) - A Resolution providing for the Execution
of an Agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and R. C. Hoyt, Inc. relating to
the lease of an Automobile Truck (more particularly described as follows: " For the
lease and .rental of a certain 1937 Ford C. C. rickup eight cylinder Automobile Truck
Motor No. 18- 4032436, 1939 license No. 9 V 5196 for a term of seven months beginning on
the 24th day of July 1939, as per lease dated August 7th' 1939) was passed and adopted,
on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil by the followbig vote:

Absent: None
Plans and specifications for the improvement of City Reservoir No. 1 ( also
known as "Small Reservoir" ) were presented by the City Engineer. Matter discussed and
on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the said Dlans and specifications
were ordered adopted and filed. Motion carried.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary the City Clerk was instructe
and directed to advertise for bids for sand, gravel and steel for the improvement of
Reservoir No. 1, known as "Small Reservoir ". Bids to be.received up to 7:30 o'clock P.M.,
Monday, August 21st, 1939. Motion carried.
Re: Transportation of outside W. P.A. Workers employed on City projects:
(Discussion. Mayor Fred C. Kimball appointed Mr. Leary to work with the City Engineer
