Present: V1. H. Brazil, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The following, applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R. F. Howell seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy: Gustav & Fannie Anderson - Res. and Garage, Lots 28 & 29, Blk 3, 1'_rlington Addition, . Cost 3000.00 G. Stocklausen - 3 apts. ( 1 room and kitchenette ) Block 60, Cost 600.00 Ed. Chappell - Double Garage and 2 Harford Addition, bed rooms, Lot 6, Blk 152, Cost 600.00 Irma F. Jacobs - Addition of a room, Lot 12, Blk 12, Central t.ddn. Cost 600.00 Edgar H. Hoddinott - Garage, Lot 7, Blk 178, Loomis Addn. Cost 100.00 California Home Build_ ing& Loan ( Joe Martin ) - General Repairs, part of Lot 5, Block 50, Cost 500.00 County of San Luis Obispo- Temporary Offices and Material Sheds - B1�: 24, 500.00 The application of 0. 71. Dalgleish for permit to extend width of driveway 2 feet on the so_lth side of hurray Ave. between Chcr ro and Santa Rosa.Streets was granted on motion of R. 1. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. The application of the Santa Maria Gas Co. for permit to break pavement on Murray Ave. between Chorro and Santa Rosa Streets for the purpose of ,running gas service to new residence was referred to the Commissioner of Public 3orks, with power to act. The reports of the City Clerk, the Police Judge, and the Crime Report of the Chief of Police for the month of February were received and ordered placed on file on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. Communication received from Franz Vlagner, Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, requesting the Council to contribute toward the Salvation Army kitchen was received: Matter was discussed and the Mayor appointed Commissioners Joseph Leary and N. H. Brazil, a committee, to investigate the matter of providing meals for transient and operation of said kitchen. ?Notification was received from Gwen Marshall, County Clerk of the County of San Luis Obispo, of an order made by the Board of3upervisors.of the County of San Luis Obispo cancelling taxes levied against Lots 18 and 19, Block.186 of the Ingleside Homestead Tract for the year 1939 -40 assessed to the.Central Supply Co; said title now vested in the City of San Luis Obispo. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil said order e:as received and placed on file. Petition was received from Sandercock Transfer Co. et al, by N. W. Sanderco requesting that Leff Street, from Broad Street to high Street be improved by.construct- ing concrete curbs and gutters under VI. P. A. project and paving said street in the manne in which Islay Street was improved. Matter discussed and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H.
