The following applications.for permit to build were granted on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy:

The application of Raymond True to move building from Lot 179 Block 109
Mission Vineyard Tract to part of Lot 16, Block 11, Weill's Addn. was granted on motion of
H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, with the provision that work be done under the super -
v.si3n of the City Engineer.
The application of V. 17. Fraser for permit to break pavement in order to
connect .vith sewer on Chcrro Street between Upham and High Streets, was referred to the Com-
missioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by
Ralph C. Kennedy.
The application of Karl E. Pierce to break about 10 feet of curb to widen
present driveway and ramp walk on the west side of Ida Street between Higuera and Marsh
Streets was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act.

The petition of Neon Sales & Service for permit to hang a horizontal
double faced neon sign for A. E. Nernof, 1025 Chorro Street was referred to the Commissioner
of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded
by 6`7. H.Brazil.
Petition received from the Shell Oil Co. for permit to install an under-
ground gasoline storage tank and pumps at the corner of Monterey and Santa Rosa Streets,
and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, same was referred to the City
Engineer.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the following appli-
cations for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of rublic Health and Safety for
report:

The Merchandising Bond of Edith Deatherage in the amount of $200.00 with
the U. S. ridelity and Guaranty Co. as surety, was received, and on motion of Ralph C.Kennedy,
seconded by R. P. Howell, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued.
Notification received from the State Board of Equalization under date of
March 24, 1941 requesting transfer of "On Sale Beer" license from Charles L. Burch, 1129
Monterey Street to Marie Rose and George Matts, Jr., dba Wide -A -Wake Cafe, and on motion
of W.H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, same was ordered placed on file.

was read and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, same was ordered filed,''
however, the City Council's protest to stand as originally presented. .
The following applications for sidewalk were granted on motion of R. P. Howell,
seconded by 4V. H. Brazil:
s. R. Maier - 100 ft. of 4 ft. park sidewalk on the southside .
of Pismo St. between Broad and Nipomo Streets
Leonard Lenger - 582 ft. of 4 ft. sidewalk on the southside of
Leff St. between Nipomo and Beach Streets
Communication received from Steve Zegar under date of March 28:;: 1941 requesting
that his name be withdrawn from the petition relative to revoking the license for Taxicab
from Leonard Burns, and on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, same was
ordered filed.
Communication received from Allen S. Mobley, Chairman, Army Day Committee,.under
gate of March 28, 1941, outlining plans.for Army Day Parade to.be held on Haturday,.April
59 1941, requesting the City Council to grant permission to hold this parade, and on motion
of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the request was granted.
Communication received from L. E. McChesney of San Luis Obispo., relative to the
question of prohibiting the sale of raw milk within the city of San Luis Obispo, and on
tion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by.W. H. Brazil it was ordered placed on file.
Communication received from the Building Trades Council of San Luis Obispo, by
bert B. Barton, Secretary, under date of March 27, 1941 requesting that the City of San
is Obispo employ a Building Inspector, and to adopt a Plumbing and Electrical Code;
after discussion, and on motion of ',7..H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, it was
ordered filed,- Motion carried.
The report of the City Clerk for the month of February, 1941 was received and
ered placed on file.
On- favorable report and motion of R. P. Ho: ^,ell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the
following applications were granted.:
Francis Radia To connect with sewer on Walnut St. between Chorro and Morro Streets
For permit to build temporary bath house, etc. and
to connect with sewer between Walker, Archer, Pacific
and Pismo Streets.
The application of Cecil G. Evans for permit to move the old Luchessa Residence
to a new location facing Murray Ave. was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded
by V7. H.Brazil - work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.

On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary the City Clerk was instructed
to send a wire to the U. S. Pipe and Foundry Co. requesting pipe be shipped all rail ship-
as routed by Southern Pacific Agent.
y Ordinance No. 223 (New Series).- An Ordinance amending Section Four and one -half

of `Ordinance No. 122 (New Series), Regulating Traffic upon and the Parking of Vehicles on
the Business Streets of the City of San Luis Obispo was introduced and passed by the foil
ing vote:

Resolution No. 562 (Nevi Series) - Preliminary Determination of Legislative Body
