On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy,Mr. Kenneth Beck was
instructed to print 20 sets of the plans submitted by Mr. Harry N. Jenks; also, Mr. Jenks
was instructed to have 40 copies of the⢠specifications mimeographed. and return to the
City Clerk.
Resolution No. 629 (New Series) - A Resolution accepting the proposal of Harry
N. Jenks, as Consulting Engineer, in connection with the proposed enlargement and improve-
ment of the Sewage Disposal Plant was passed and adopted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded
by R. P. Howell by the following vote:
Ayes: W.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F.C. Kimball, Joseph Leary
Noes: None
Absent: None

and approved as read.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of

The application from the United States of America, U. S. J.. Corp., to build
a U.S.O. Bldg. on Lots 1 & 2,.Block 32 at a cost of $71,000.00 was granted on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, subject to the conditions attached to permit
addressed to C. M. Clifford, Captain, Q.M:C., signed by W. D. Sanford, Building Inspector;
work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
The application of Mary Fogarty for permit to connect with sewer on 147
Pismo Street between Chorro & Morro Streets was granted; -with the provision that work be
done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Petition from Rose A. Durand for permit to build a 6 ft. fence at 760 Mill
Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report.
Communication received from Mr. and Mrs. Kinsman requesting the city to do
certain street work and remove tree stump on Second-Street; matter discussed and on
motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil, Commissioner Howell was instructed
to have the street department do the necessary work.
Communication from the Elks Hall Assn. relative to the Marsh Street curb
along the Elks Hall Association property was received and filed.
Petition of C. D. Stowe to replace curb on Elks Hall Association alley and
break curb and ramp 20 ft. north of fire alley on Marsh Street was referred to the Com-
missioner of Public Works for investigation and report.
The petition of Clines Electric to hang double faced neon sign for Heine
Nesbet at 1022 Morro St., and the petition of line's Electric to hang neon sign for
James Newell at 1025 Morro St. were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for investigation and report.
The transfer of license from A. 0. Righetti, for Service Station at 316
Higuera St. to A. W. Briscoe was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph
C. Kennedy,
The City Collector's report for the month of October, 1941 was received and
ordered filed.
The application of Art Ketz.for registration as a Class "E" contractor, to-
gether with Great American Indemnity Co. bond in the amount of 4lOOO.00, and registration
' fee of $15.00 received, and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil it
was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted.
The application of Lulu Logan for 50 ft. of sidewalk on the north-side of
Palm Street between Grove and Ida Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell,. seconded
by W. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer,

to be 'done under the supervision of the City. Engineer.
