Resolution No. 65�(New Series) - A Resolution objecting to the sale by
J. E. Barrett as Tax Collector of the County of San Luis Obispo, of certain tax deeded
property lying within the City of San Luis Obispo was passed and adopted on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary upon the following vote:

The Assistant City Engineer, Leonard Lenger, was instructed by the Council
to `bring an estimate as to the cost of running a 14" and 2" line from the end of the
Goldtree Extension water main to serve the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. sub - station on the
Orcutt Road and present to the Council for their approval.
The City Attorney was instructed to submit a re -draft of the present Cigars
and Tobacco sideline and Soft Drinks licenses and present to the Council at the next
meeting.
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R.Y. Howell, the meeting adj)urned
to Monday, March 9th, 1942.

The application of the Jennings Tent Show for city license for Tent Show at

The Police Judge's report for the month of February 1942 was ordered received
and filed.
Communication received from Leo Branker asking the Council's permission for
cancellation of his transient Merchandising Bond in the amount of $200.00 filed January
1st2 1942 and discontinue business license,was granted and the City Clerk was instructed
to cancel the bond and notify the bonding Co. that they have been relieved as principal,
on motion of R.F.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
Communication received from Rundle's Inc. for permit to hang a double faced
neon sign for Ben R. Harris at 1575 Monterey St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public
Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded
by V1. H. Brazil.
Resolution No. 655 (New Series) - A Resolution accepting the offers of
F. C. Stolte Co. to make certain changes and substitutions in connection with enlargements
and improvements to the Sewage Disposal Plant of the City of San Luis Obispo was passed and
adopted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, by the following roll call vote:

a letter received from D. E. Bassetti asking for a leave of absence to enter
in the military service was ordered received and filed on motion of VI.H.Brazil, seconded
by Ralph C. Kennedy. It was ordered that he be granted leave of absence during the time
he serves in the U. S. Army.
Petition signed.by 'N. W. Mathews et al was presented to the Council, request-
ing a time limit parking zone in the 300 block on Higuera Street be established. Same
was referred to the Commissioner of Publio Health and Safety for investigation and report.
Mr. E. H. Schillmore and a group of property owners from Johnson Ave. beyond
the city limits appeared before the Council asking permission to connect on to the Goldtree
Extension 1vater line, which is being installed by the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. on the
Orcutt Road. The City Attorney was requested to make up a contract agreement whereby these
property owners would pay the difference in cost between a 1" pipe and a 2" pipe for
a distance of 1300 feet; they to pay the difference of approximately 14¢ per ft. This being
the difference between the cost of the 141" and 2" pipe.
The ai.plication of t. 'N. Caughlan for permit to connect with sewer on Lincoln
Street, Lot 1, Block 2, Anholm Tract was granted on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by
V1. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineef.
The applicatiog of Bud Rose Sign Service for permit to-hang neon sign at
the corner of Pacific and Broad Streets was granted on motion of W.H.Brazii, seconded by
R.P. Howell; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
