City Hall, Thursday August 10, 1944 - 7:30 P. M.
The City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor F. C. Kimball presiding.
Present: R.P.Hoaiell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F.C. Kimball, Joseph LeL.ry, Clyde T. O'Nan
Absent: None
On motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan the application of
Herman Rosenkranz and Herman Reissen, dba Archers Amusement Center at 766 Higuera St. for
Shooting Gallery ( Archery only) was granted,
Notification from the State'Board of Equalization for an "Off -Sale Beer
and ':Vine" license for Cruz Chavez dba E1 Charro Pleat Market at 138 Higuera St. was
ordered received and filed oi:»otion of Joseph Leery, seconded by R.P. Howell.
Transfer of license of the Texaco Service St_ltiun ( H.H. Anderson) at 311
Higu °.ra St. to Ansel D.Sharp was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'rTan seconded by R.P.Howe
Communication from Remigio R. Gaoiran relative to renting of the City Farm
for next year was ordered received and filed for future reference.
Communication from the Dept. of Commerce, Bureau of Census, ashington, D.C.
outlinin,7, the procedurefor taking Special census, and on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded
by Clyde T. O'Nan the City Attorney was instructed to bring in Resolution authorizing
the Mayor to act on the matter.
Communication from the San Luis Obispo Lodge No. 322, B. P. 0. E. #322
relative to a Loading Zone on Marsh St; the matter was referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Clyde
T. O'Nan.
Ordinance No. 256 (New Series) - An Ordinance levying a tax for the
current fiscal year ( 1944 -1945) upon all taxable property within the City of San Luis
Obispo and fixing the rate of such tax was instroduced and passed to print on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy upon the following roll call vote:

Absent: None
Application of the Pacific Tel. and Tel.Co. for permit to do certain pole
work on P.- Ionterey St. between Grove and No. City Limits was granted on motion of R. P.
Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary.
Transfer of license of the L'lideawake Cafe at 1129 Monterey St. from Joseph
Soroka to Marie Rose was held over pending health certificate from the Health Dept.
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, Commissioner
R.P. Hovlell was authorized tb proceed with work and the City Attorney instructed to draw
up R/A agreement with Mr. J. W. Plummer to cross his property with sewer line.
On motion of Rah C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary the City Clerk was
authorized to cancel the following delinquent licenses and licenses charged to the City
Attorney for collection: -
